[Chainsaw Man Reze cosplay] Fan-design Edition, Sharing the Light and Shadow with You on 520

Right on this 520 occasion, I happen to be sharing this set of finished fan-design style Reze cosplay photos with everyone. Because of this special day, I wanted to shoot something gentle and comfortable, without intentionally piling up high-conflict elements.

The core of this set is to highlight Reze's sense of contrast. In the original work, she is a combat girl in a dystopian setting, but for the fan-design, I chose an off-the-shoulder black dress paired with black tights to tone down the combat atmosphere and emphasize the softness of daily life. White chamomiles were used as a prop, making the black-and-white contrast very distinct under the warm-toned lighting. The dark long hair was dyed with purplish-red layers, and the edges were trimmed to be rather fluffy, exposing the pale shoulders and collarbone lines.

The shooting environment was selected in a Japanese-style washitsu room, where the wooden storage racks and beige tatami provided an excellent base color. The light facing the window, combined with the white heater on the left, made the temperature of the illumination throughout the room feel highly authentic. The sunlight projection on the wall towards the right formed a very fitting light-dark boundary line. To keep the frame clean, excess clutter was moved away during arrangement, leaving only a few jars and books to enrich the background.

When doing the styling, apart from trimming the wig neatly, I additionally paired it with an extremely thin black choker to add a bit of playful rebellion. In this cover photo, my eyes are slightly lowered as my arms encircle the bouquet, wanting to retain that stillness and a bit of emotional nuance. In the second photo, the body posture is more relaxed, with a hand supporting the hair and eyes looking down, capturing a highly genuine state of relaxation. The black tights and the dress cut excellently showcase the leg lines in this composition.

When interpreting Reze, I personally believe she not only has a fearless side but also a side that craves a simple life. Infusing the 520 theme is meant to capture an independence where a person is not lonely, but rather a gentleness of being able to choose to share time with someone. This casual cosplay presentation, stepping away from the original combat uniform, actually lets the character's own emotions stand out better, bringing it closer to a real state of living.

The washitsu furnishings, such as the small wooden storage box, the vintage heater, the jars on the bookshelf, and the small alarm clock in the corner, all participated as environmental elements, giving the entire photo set a thick layer of daily life flavor instead of looking empty. When adjusting the light, I tried to keep smooth highlights on the face as much as possible, locking the focus onto the costume and demeanor, maintaining the bright areas at a delicate level of skin texture.

I felt quite moved after shooting this set. This kind of atmospheric photography isn't something you can intentionally force into a pose; it requires the person and the environment to slowly build a mutual understanding. 520 is a day of expression for many people; since I specifically made this set for this milestone, I hope it conveys a type of romance that one can quiet down to feel. Different from past styles, the texture of this set is closer to a genuine home record, where the long heater and the intense light outside the window both became very special little memories from that day's shoot.
