【Barmaid cosplay】Summer Sea Salt Specialty Drink: Recreating the Refreshing Look in Identity V - Image 2

A bucket of ice-blue sea water, paired with a breezy straw hat and a semi-sheer shirt—this is the core inspiration behind this Sea Salt Specialty Drink Barmaid cosplay look. When planning the shoot's theme, I originally wanted to find a styling that could visually cool things down and evoke a refreshing breeze; seeing the Barmaid's Sea Salt Specialty Drink skin in Identity V, I felt this blue-and-white beach resort aesthetic was a perfect fit for a Summer cosplay.

Speaking of styling details, the most demanding parts were the upper garments and headwear. The top is made of lightweight chiffon texture with white lace frills along the collar and cuffs, giving this semi-translucent fabric a subtle pearlescent shimmer under indoor lighting. The large matching bow across the chest enhances the overall cuteness. To complement this breezy feel, fine-tuning the inner underlayer took considerable effort to ensure the exposed waistline and midriff contours looked natural without feeling awkward.

For the lower half, I selected white shorts with matching lightweight tulle draped along the side, making the silhouette flutter effortlessly. Yellow star accents along the waistband and thigh ring, accompanied by a distressed metal chain, added playful contrasting color details to the predominantly light-toned attire. The colorful seashell pouch at the waist served as a charming finishing touch, echoing the seaside theme beautifully.

For hair and makeup, I wore a platinum-blonde curly wig with fluffy wavy curls on both sides and white-streaked highlights in the front bangs. The cyan-blue semicircular gem embellishments and ribbons on the straw hat ensured the head styling didn't look plain. Makeup-wise, to harmonize with the character's palette, I chose green colored contact lenses matched with cyan-green eyeshadow. Winging out the eyeliner slightly gave the gaze a relaxed, languid charm with a subtle touch of sharpness.

During the photoshoot, the blue bucket in hand was undeniably the visual focal point. Its wooden handle, vibrant blue bucket body, and the transparent water bottle submerged inside carried fantastic texture under the studio flash, instantly evoking the theme of the Sea Salt Specialty Drink. Lacking a real outdoor beach setting, I opted for an indoor studio shoot; the clean, industrial studio backdrop actually made the vibrant hues of the costume stand out even more.

When posing, everything was designed around a "casual, vacation" vibe—such as standing sideways while holding the bucket or reaching up to adjust the hat brim, aiming to create the effortless candidness of spontaneous snapshots. Because the outfit has a relatively high degree of exposed skin, I had to ensure the garment and thigh ring didn't shift while walking and posing, maintaining the cleanest silhouette throughout this Character-accurate cosplay.

Honestly, the best part of cosplaying this character was sheer comfort. The Sea Salt Specialty Drink skin conveys a relaxed, effortless summer getaway mood. When cosplaying, being fully immersed in the light, airy atmosphere of the character makes the final photos turn out much more natural. After every shoot, looking back at these captured moments makes all the tedious prep work feel truly worthwhile. That is the joy cosplay brings me: constantly exploring diverse styles and translating 2D designs into reality through authentic lens storytelling.
