[Little Poet cosplay] Identity V Midnight Skirt-Lifting Girl Night Shoot Record

Tonight's night shoot took place at Anime Star City, finally bringing this Identity V Little Poet costume outdoors on location. This outfit actually went through multiple alterations from initial tailoring to its final form. To evoke that detached yet mysterious mood, I had the makeup artist lay down an exceptionally pale base, softly diffusing reddish-brown eyeshadow to craft that melancholic dark fairy tale aesthetic, finished with light gray contact lenses to harmonize with the overall palette. Styling and cutting the wig took nearly an hour; the two cat-ear-shaped plush tufts on top required multiple hairnets and internal wire framing to hold their shape, which, paired with blue ribbon hair accessories, gave the head a full, dimensional silhouette.

The wardrobe pairs a black puff-sleeve top spliced with a crisp white pinafore apron over an electric blue flared skirt. Multi-layered dresses like this run a high risk of creasing during outdoor shoots, so upon arriving on site, we immediately ironed out the apron and skirt folds—especially the gray circular motif on the apron, which needs to be properly fanned out to showcase its details. The bright blue opera gloves fit snugly like a second skin, but offered zero breathability; after just a few action sequences, the interiors were slick with sweat. Moreover, because the fabric reflects light easily, even the slightest deviation in wrist angles would kick back awkward glare, demanding constant awareness of hand placement.

To honor the character's essence, I incorporated skirt-lifting and reaching gestures into the posing choreography. While seated atop a white prop crate, photographer NightDiva guided me to slightly part my legs to showcase the leg contours. The black leather thigh garter and white stockings served as the crowning highlights of the ensemble, pairing with chunky black platform lace-up heels to visually elongate leg proportions. Wearing lace-up heels like these for extended periods left my feet quite sore, but to achieve maximum visual impact, I kept my insteps firmly pointed and held an upright, poised posture throughout.

Night photography places the highest demands on supplementary lighting. Ambient light around Anime Star City at night is notoriously mixed, with streetlamps and storefront signs constantly skewing color temperatures. In dark outdoor settings, we alternated between strobes and continuous LED panels to preserve the rich blue gradations in shadow areas while guarding against blown-out highlights. When capturing the skirt-lifting pose, steadying the core was essential; turning slightly to the side accentuated the waistline far better. For those wondering how to keep the fabric from clinging to the legs while standing, grasping the skirt corners and pulling them subtly outward while using arm placement to anchor the silhouette creates a gorgeous frame.

The entire shoot flowed with effortless rhythm. NightDiva completely grasped the dark fairy tale style I envisioned; while the night wind blew quite briskly, the fluttering hemline added wonderful dynamic tension. Between the dense wig and the heavy gloves, my neck and arms were genuinely exhausted after an entire evening, but seeing the sharp, luminous textural collision between white and blue emerge in the nocturnal selects made every bit of effort worth it.
