This time for Cifera's feature photos, a lot of effort was put into the selection of costume materials. To restore that tight and somewhat combat-ready effect, the main body of the outfit uses matte leather fabric, which actually fits quite snugly when worn. The most attractive part of this costume to me is those golden piping trims and various metal-textured buckle accessories. Before the shoot, I spent quite a long time adjusting these small details to ensure they could reflect a nice metallic sheen under the lighting, enhancing the three-dimensional feel of the overall styling. The hood design is definitely the finishing touch, especially that pair of upright cat ears with a deep blue outer layer and white fluffy inner lining. Once worn, Cifera's lively agility instantly comes through. To match the hood, I kept the silver-white straight bangs for the hairstyle, and the long sideburns intentionally left on both sides can modify the face shape nicely, keeping the visual focus concentrated on the face.
In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on the eye makeup. To highlight the 'sly little cat' trait described in the post, I chose a pair of ice-blue contact lenses, whose color echoes the blue accessories on the costume. The eyeshadow blending and pairing with fake eyelashes intentionally elongated the eye shape, making the gaze look deeper and sharper. The lip color used is a warm-toned red-pink, which is neither too aggressive nor neutralizes the coolness of the eye makeup, making the person look a bit more playful.
In terms of action expression, since cats were mentioned, mimicking cat movements is naturally indispensable. During the shoot, I tried various gestures, such as supporting my chin with one hand or extending my arms to make a 'cat-paw' posture. When facing the lens, eye contact is very important; you can't just stare blankly, but rather coordinate with subtle expressions—sometimes restrained, sometimes smiling openly—to make the photos more narrative. The shooting scene was chosen indoors with a retro-luxurious feel, featuring radial golden decorations and white fabric drapes in the background, paired with a rug covered in intricate patterns, adding a touch of contrasting aesthetic to this outfit leaning towards a two-dimensional combat style. The lighting on site happened to illuminate the metal parts on the costume, and the eyeball pendant on the neck and the buckle at the waist were particularly striking under the light.
The waist-cinching design and deep V-neckline of this outfit show off the figure quite directly, so in adjusting postures, I would also try my best to straighten my back and find angles that highlight curves and leg lines. The golden over-the-knee boots on the lower body are also a part I've always wanted to showcase; the patterns on the boot shafts coordinate very well with the overall black-and-gold collocation, and when standing or bending the knees, the boots have a strong sense of styling.
From preparing the costume props, to studying the makeup, to every single freeze-frame on site, the whole process actually tests patience quite a bit. The character Cifera has a very strong visual impact, possessing both the competence of combat and the cuteness belonging to a young girl. Being able to present this styling completely gives me a great sense of achievement.
