Sitting, squatting, or standing there, it really feels like looking at a little anime figure. This time, I completed a set shoot with three different themes in the white studio of Chengdu Jingjie Photography Studio. The overall texture and light/shadow effects of the finished photos fit the costume's original setting perfectly. White studio photography really delivers great results; the lighting is even and translucent, making it effortless to process the reflections of the black leather coat and the highlights of the silver wig during post-production.
Let's talk about the core makeup and cosplay styling for this shoot. The black main visual of this outfit is incredibly sharp and capable, while the red-and-white diamond lattice patchwork on the upper body, combined with the white silk scarf at the collar and the layered belt buckles and metal hardware at the waist, makes the overall layering extremely rich. The long red cape can be called the soul of the entire look; it is not only the perfect length, but the fabric also has an excellent drape. Whether loosely trailing behind or gently lifted by hand, it provides strong dynamic visual guidance to the frame. The black leather bracers on the arms connect to the gloves, echoing the texture of the upper body, and they do a wonderful job of shaping the arm lines when worn. The stability of the high-heeled leather boots exceeded my expectations; when standing on one leg or doing half-squats on the platform for a long time, my center of gravity remained very steady, and the heels didn't hinder my performance at all.
The details of the props were also handled quite well this time. That blue, white, and gold-colored firearm model, though solid to hold, isn't particularly heavy, allowing me to easily strike poses like holding it to the side, raising it up, or aiming. Combined with changes in the upper body's angle, it helped strike quite a few sharp and commanding auras. That black-and-white plush toy was also a key prop for this cosplay photography session. The blue and orange accents on its ears make it look vivid and adorable, and its soft, fluffy appearance creates a fascinating textual clash with the rigid black outfit. Whether placing it next to the newspaper on the office desk or holding it above my head to take a picture with the Christmas tree, it blended into the frame just like a real partner.
The atmosphere switching brought by the three set designs was very interesting. The first pure white platform set pursued minimalism and cleanliness, relying mainly on the character's form and movements to carry the frame; in this scene, I tried sitting, kneeling, and standing on one foot, keeping the visual focus entirely on the character itself. The second office desk set added a slice-of-life touch, with the warm light from the desk lamp hitting my face, combined with a laptop and scattered newspapers, instantly bringing in a daily yet slightly lazy roleplay vibe. When sitting on the edge of the desk, the lines of my legs were elongated by the high-heeled boots, creating a very pleasing overall proportion. The third Christmas tree set was the most colorful one; the green of the pine branches, the red and gold palette of the gifts, and the pure white of the snowflake decorations formed a very warm winter picture, and my expressions became a bit more lively and relaxed in this scene. The photography aspect worked in perfect harmony this time, with decisive shutter snapshots that precisely captured everything from the split second of turning my head to the freezing of hand movements. The soft lighting environment of the white studio preserved the true texture of the costume beautifully, and the post-processing required only minor adjustments to make the skin tone and the leather sheen of the clothes look entirely natural.
