[Unicorn Cosplay] Azur Lane Unicorn Summer Pool & Beach White Stockings Photoshoot

From preliminary planning to actual shooting, this swimsuit Unicorn look took the better part of a month. To embody that regal, delicate aura of a Royal Navy aircraft carrier, I had repeated consultations with the tailor regarding the ruffled flounces, high-neck collar, and iconic metallic hardware. For the wig, I selected an eye-catching pastel lilac hue, styled into twin buns at the sides and adorned with white lace floral hair accessories to maximize fidelity to the original character design. While many friends commented on how delightfully breezy this set looks, the shoot was far less effortless behind the scenes.

Shooting across the Water park and swimming pool spanned several days. Photos 1 and 2 were staged in the pool; although the water was shallow, bracing against the white pool railings for natural poses while ensuring the glittering water caustics hit my face took substantial physical stamina. More critically, wearing stockings submerged in water is an agonizing ordeal: the moment they soak through, the fabric grows heavy with water and easily slides down, requiring me to climb out every few takes to readjust before stepping back into the water. In Photo 9, sitting perched upon the rocks, the jagged stones beneath dug into my back; holding that pose relied entirely on intense core tension, as relaxing even slightly would make me tip backward.

We later transitioned to the beach location. The sun on the sand was blindingly harsh, and white reflector boards filling the shadows made keeping my eyes open nearly impossible, yet I persevered to preserve facial composure for the sake of image quality. The single-leg lift in Photo 4 was notoriously unstable on loose sand, taking multiple attempts to find stable balance. Kneeling in Photos 6, 7, and 8 quickly scraped my knees against coarse beach grit. The thigh-high white lace stockings styled for this shoot snagged so easily that I barely dared to make large movements, making every step feel like walking a tightrope.

Unicorn's iconic line, "If it's Onii-chan... it's okay?" was the exact blend of demure sweetness and subtle coquetry we aimed to evoke. Throughout shooting, I used my gaze and posture to balance innocent maidenly shyness with visual allure before the lens. Because the cut featured an open back and high-cut leg openings, avoiding wardrobe slips was paramount, making fashion body tape an indispensable asset.
