This time, the shoot features the "Lazy White Bunny" look, with the overall tone set in a pure white dreamy indoor scene. This arrangement perfectly fits the character's lazy, sweet, and slightly airheaded temperament. Since the theme is "lazy," I didn't need to forcefully strike over-the-top poses during the shoot; instead, I imagined myself as a white bunny girl napping in the afternoon sun, just happening to be captured at this exact moment by the Commander (the lens).
For equipment, we used a Sony A7 V paired with the 24-70GM lens. This setup is highly convenient for indoor shoots that need to balance environmental context and half-body close-ups. Modestly widening the aperture allowed for great depth of field control, creating beautiful bokeh for the background birdcages and floral arrangements, thereby highlighting the main subject. The full-frame dynamic range left plenty of room for post-production when handling overexposure and shadow details in this ultra-white environment, ensuring clean and translucent high-key light and shadow.
The makeup and hair retained the character's silver-white short hair with straight bangs and iconic blue eyes, emphasizing a doll-like exquisite feel. The white bunny ears headband on my head wasn't just a decoration; its plush texture was made very realistically, making me instantly want to make tiny ear-twitching movements once it was on. The round collar with a white metal buckle around the neck and the arm sleeves were key elements of the entire outfit; the metal buckle enhanced the overall luxury feel, while the soft arm sleeves emphasized the character's delicate nature.
The floral decorations on the costume were highly intricate, with a massive amount of three-dimensional small flowers, beads, and lace stitched onto the chest and skirt hem, all handmade. During the shoot, special attention had to be paid to the incident angle of the light to avoid excessive reflection. Paired with opaque white tights and slippers, the overall color scheme was highly unified, presenting an ultimate sense of cleanliness visually. To prevent the frame from looking too plain, light blue and pale pink hydrangeas were intentionally integrated into the scene as accents.
Since the scene was pure white and the light was extremely bright, large softboxes and reflectors were used as light sources for detailed fill-lighting to prevent highlight clipping, letting the light fall very softly on my face. The snippets between shooting were actually quite fun; just like the phrase "Commander... what are we doing after we finish shooting?" mentioned in the original post, it fits the character's setting perfectly. The entire set had a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, letting me wind down naturally in a cozy environment.
Post-production primarily focused on consistency treatments for the skin tone and overall color palette, emphasizing the gentle, creamy-white aesthetic vibe and removing distracting mixed colors from the environment, allowing the background flowers and the character's silhouette to merge more as one. The finished photo effect turned out even softer than I anticipated; this kind of slightly hazy and high-key light and shadow texture was a completely distinct experience from other styles I've shot before.
This shoot was both a strict character restoration and a highly relaxed and happy creative process. Concretely manifesting the lazy and lively ship girl from the game through imagery made the entire process deeply satisfying for both body and mind. Even if I just sit quietly on the white sofa spacing out, as long as it coordinates with this multi-layered scene arrangement, I can instantly immerse myself entirely into the character for this piece of dreamy photography.
