Just wrapped up this photoset for Phoebe from Wuthering Waves; swipe to the next slide to see the final cuts. Phoebe's character design is exceptionally distinct, which prompted extensive dedication across costuming, makeup, and props. For this white scalloped wide-brimmed hat alone, multiple layers of structural wire were embedded inside to achieve an edge curvature both crisp and soft, undergoing iterative adjustments. For the wig, I selected a creamy golden hue blended with a hint of flaxen to avoid an overly harsh tone, adding deliberate teasing at the crown to build a fuller, more dimensional silhouette. Befitting her scholarly aura, the blue grimoire in hand was custom-crafted following lore designs; the gilded filigree and runic script across the cover were painted stroke by stroke, giving it tangible weight in hand. The embroidery and tassels on the garment also involved tremendous effort—the metallic chest brooches, blue tie, and draping tassels delivered dynamic fluid grace in motion.
Regarding posing, I specifically choreographed a forward-reaching hand gesture paired with a direct gaze into the lens. This stance proved to be a real test of core stability, demanding an unmoving upper body while delivering sharp focus through the eyes. Cradling the tome against my chest not only resonated with character lore, but also anchored the composition effectively. I especially adore the pairing with white tights (White stockings); it not only smoothed leg contours, but enriched the depth of the overall palette. White stockings place strict demands on lighting, easily appearing bulky or casting blown-out specular highlights, which led me to choose a matte finish. Under the photographer's lighting setup, the captures yielded a velvety, refined texture. Posing barefoot atop the white circular platform without shoes was done to best showcase leg lines and overall proportions. Because the hemline flared wide, leaning slightly forward while standing allowed arm muscle engagement to appear far more natural.
The entire shoot was physically demanding, particularly sustaining poses perched on tiptoes over extended periods, yet seeing the finished cuts made every ounce of fatigue feel worthwhile. I strove to keep facial expressions gentle to harmonize with the pure white palette, avoiding any overt edge. For the wardrobe coordination, I find the chromatic harmony to be the greatest highlight: expansive white accented by blue and gold piping evokes a clean yet enigmatic charm. Against a seamless studio background, the subject's silhouette pops vividly. During takes, I avoided exaggerated movements to preserve the garment's elegant architecture, while infusing postures with kinetic tension—such as relaxing the shoulders and subtly flexing the wrist when reaching out, both of which translated beautifully before the lens.
Phoebe's character in the game inherently radiates mystery; capturing that aura offline demands not just costumes and props, but careful facial demeanor and body language. To find the optimal angle, the photographer and I tested numerous lighting arrangements, ultimately settling on soft diffused light to let the entire frame breathe. The defining characteristic of this ensemble lies in the equilibrium between coverage and exposure: the upper body is securely wrapped, while the miniskirt and white tights visually elongate proportions. Between adjusting poses, I took care to smooth out pleats along the hemline to ensure graceful drape. From wardrobe and styling to photography, I am immensely pleased with this recreation of Phoebe, and I hope these photos share this passion with fellow fans of the character. Slipping into this outfit, holding the props, and calibrating each pose before the camera fostered a profound connection with the persona. That concludes today's chronicle.
