Today I'm sharing the behind-the-scenes story from this Blue Archive Misaki cosplay photoshoot. The overall concept was defined around a vintage, aloof, and glamorous secret agent aesthetic, so considerable care was poured into everything from wardrobe coordination to set selection.

Let's start with the outfit: the modified deep navy cheongsam radiates rich, luxurious texture, with the golden embroidered dragon motifs appearing distinctly dimensional, catching the studio lighting with a subtle, elegant sheen. To add depth, I paired it with ultra-sheer black stockings and glossy black high heels, draped loosely over the shoulders with a charcoal pinstriped blazer jacket—a half-draped styling that injected dynamic visual tension, balancing feminine grace with sharp, tailored poise. For accessories, deep blue short gloves and a vintage leather briefcase served as defining touches; and of course, holding the wooden-stock long rifle instantly unlocked commanding presence and authority.

Regarding hair and makeup: Misaki's hairstyle is quite distinctive, featuring two low chignons paired with a cascading low ponytail at the back, all anchored securely with ribbon bow hairpieces. To accentuate her signature features, I wore vibrant light-blue contact lenses, deepened the reddish blend around the eyes, and chose a classic true-red lip, giving the entire face an assertive, cool, and commanding edge. Special thanks to makeup artist Teacher Yuchen for flawless attention to micro-details.

The shoot took place at Chenxing Photography Studio, and the Chinese-style set they curated was spot-on. Openwork carved wooden screens, vintage amber lanterns, rosewood horseshoe-back armchairs, and lush potted bonsai came together to craft an authentic antique ambiance. During shooting, we made full use of these scenic props—such as perching on the armchair with legs crossed to showcase leg contours, or glancing back over the shoulder with suitcase in hand. In one of the photos featuring a hair flip, we repeated the motion numerous times to capture the ideal arc of flying hair strands mid-air; my neck was sore by the end, but seeing the final retouched cut made every bit of effort worthwhile.

To weave in subtle alluring elements, we explored various poses—reclining back across the chair with an elevated leg pose, or using the high side slit of the gown to highlight the black stockings and sleek leg lines. Posing atop a chair in such tall heels was undeniably taxing, demanding sustained core tension to keep balanced, but the resulting visual impact was breathtaking. The photographer's mastery of chiaroscuro was equally consummate: directional rim-lighting sculpted body contours crisply while bringing out the fine gold threads of the cheongsam and the sheer weave of the stockings with immaculate clarity.

While the entire shoot was grueling, our teamwork was seamless. I hope this photoset conveys this unique fusion of vintage elegance and alluring sophistication to everyone.
