[Tachibana Hikari cosplay] Blue Archive Highlander Twins: Poolside Summer Trip

For this Blue Archive Highlander Twins shoot, I played Tachibana Hikari alongside my partner Yumili as Tachibana Nozomi, with Xiongduxiashan behind the lens. The location was set in an outdoor park featuring a swimming pool; shooting outdoors in summer tests your physical stamina, but for this cantaloupe-flavored kids' concept, every moment was worth it.

Wardrobe-wise, I chose a sheer white long-sleeved cover-up over a white tube top, paired with raw-edge blue denim shorts and white over-the-knee stockings. A long green wig was matched with prosthetic elf ears, while the halo headpiece atop my head and the black arrow tail behind were fastened securely in place. The complete styling looks delightfully refreshing for summer, though having multiple layers meant continually checking and adjusting our look.

There was a minor hiccup at noon: the pizza we ordered arrived completely crushed and misshapen, and the delivery driver's attitude was rather indifferent. We were pretty frustrated, but too drained from hunger to argue, so we prioritized eating first. We ordered cantaloupe smoothies instead; the sweet melon aroma and icy chill instantly melted away the summer heat and irritation, allowing us to resume the afternoon session fully recharged.

The shoot centered primarily along the poolside and hammock areas. Sitting along the pool's edge to showcase the white stockings and leg contours, I experimented with multiple seated stances to keep limbs naturally relaxed and elongated, using a straw hat as a prop to add visual depth to the framing. The shots lying and lounging on the hammock leaned heavily into effortless languor; despite the harsh glare of the sun, the dappled shadows filtering through the mesh hammock kept the blue denim and white stockings looking remarkably clean and crisp.

As a twin duo, chemistry between Yumili and me was essential. Although we had individual solo frames, we coordinated poses and expressions together during breaks, striving to recreate that singular bond between the sisters. Prop maintenance was equally demanding: ensuring prosthetic ears adhered smoothly along facial contours and checking that halos and tails hadn't shifted out of alignment before every single take.

In outdoor cosplay photography, beyond makeup and styling, one must stay alert to shifting light angles. Afternoon sunlight can be quite harsh, but under our photographer's guidance, we leveraged side backlighting to etch luminous rim highlights across the wigs and body contours. The entire shoot steered clear of overly forced poses, prioritizing candid captures of natural character-driven moments.

The color grading leans fresh, bright, and airy, preserving the vibrant texture of real summer sunshine in post-processing.
