Today, I finally finished retouching the Convention photos from the World Line anime expo. The chosen outdoor location featured an expansive reed marsh, which captured the poetic aura of "a noble person conceals their edge, calmly awaiting the rising wind" whenever the breeze blew through. This JX3 "Forging the World for All" Zangjian second young lady cosplay outfit truly invested immense effort into garment details. The pairing of off-white and gold, complemented by intricate jacquard embroidery, gave the physical costume extraordinary texture. To recreate this styling, I intentionally coordinated it with white lace thigh-high Stockings and golden platform shoes, which not only elongated my leg lines but also provided stable footing across the grass and paved paths.
The greatest challenge was undeniably that massive prop sword. The golden blade adorned with black openwork filigree and wound with white blossoms and dried vines looked remarkably ornate, but its sheer weight was truly formidable. During the shoot, whether gripping it one-handed or resting it across my shoulder, holding an expansive, elegant posture required continuous core engagement—especially in the shoulder-carry shot, where my arm muscles stayed constantly flexed. The high-slit skirt design also demanded meticulous mindfulness of carriage while moving outdoors, keeping a constant eye on modesty whenever the wind picked up.
Sunlight on that day was abundant, and the afternoon natural light striking the gold accents of the attire dialed the visual texture straight to the maximum. To embody the aristocratic pride and effortless calm characteristic of a prestigious sect's young lady, I adjusted my gaze and gestures repeatedly, striving to harmonize the character's heroic spirit with the softness of the garments. The convention day temperature was rather high; trekking through the tall grass in this ensemble to scout camera angles left me covered in burrs and seeds, yet hearing the photographer's shutter clicks and seeing the final results made every hardship worthwhile. The outdoor terrain was a mix of stone paths and dirt; while the platform shoes were steady, my feet still ached after prolonged walking.
At the convention, I also met many fellow enthusiasts, all dedicating their hearts to bringing their beloved characters to life. For an outdoor, on-location Ancient style cosplay shoot, leveraging ambient light and surroundings is vital, and the organic texture of the reed marsh injected tremendous vitality into the frames. In post-processing, I preserved authentic skin textures and natural lighting layers without excessive smoothing, hoping to present a more lifelike state. The giant sword's paintwork and floral decorations suffered minor scuffs during the shoot, requiring some careful touch-ups at home. Time to pack up the props and prepare for the next shoot.
