Seeing the theme "It's time for snow" and thinking of Hiyuki from Wuthering Waves, her unique temperament of coexisting cold elegance and chivalrous aura really attracted me. Therefore, I specifically prepared two completely different looks for this interpretation, hoping to restore her charm in different states.
The first set is a blue-purple dominated Xianxia style look. First, regarding the hair and makeup, I chose a base makeup that fits the character's skin tone perfectly, paired with a cool-toned light blue hair color, exuding an overall clear feel without warmth. The costume has numerous details; the off-the-shoulder cut beautifully elongates the neckline, and the top and skirt utilize large areas of translucent pearlescent materials and lightweight gauze fabrics. When walking or posing, the drape and flowing elegance of the gauze fully emerge. In particular, the high-slit skirt design, combined with the floral straps and tassels on the legs, adds visual highlights just right. The long staff prop in hand is not merely a decoration; its chains and tassels, coupled with my gripping gestures, introduce a distinct sense of geometric lines into the frame. The scene was arranged with traditional Chinese wooden structures and purple-pink flower branches. Complemented by the cool-toned lighting casting down, the overall atmosphere resembles the serene moonlight in bitter winter, looking exceptionally ethereal. The reflective material on the floor perfectly mirrored the spread-out skirt, enriching the layers of the entire composition significantly.
The other set is a red-and-white Japanese-style combat look. After changing into the high-contrast red and white color scheme, my temperament instantly shifted from ethereal to dashing and sharp. The white top features wide sleeves, with very exquisite linings and hidden patterns on the collar and cuffs. The red skirt of the lower body has a very true color, and the red straps on the waistband combined with the asymmetrical leg straps give the entire outfit both the foundation of traditional clothing and the clean sharpness unique to an Anime-style outfit. The focus of this styling's coordination lies in the weapons and propsβholding a long sword in the left hand while holding up a transparent paper umbrella with red and white cherry blossom patterns to the back right. The sword symbolizes combat and cold ruthlessness, while the umbrella represents aesthetics and defense. This contrast between strength and softness, under a warm-toned lighting setup, combined with the wooden screen and cherry blossom branches in the background, presents an intense yet slightly tragic winter atmosphere.
During cosplay photography and post-processing, I paid special attention to the texture contrast between the two scenes. The first set required subtraction, highlighting the cool transparency and reducing the saturation of the shadow parts. The second set required addition, deepening the red through light and shadow contrast while brightening the white to a glowing effect to enhance the overall visual impact. The strands of hair, the metal reflections of the props, and every crease generated in the clothing during motion were all the focus of this shoot. Although the two looks seem vastly different, in terms of the coldness and stubbornness in the eyes, I hope they express the internal unity of the same character. The two sets shared today happen to fit the artistic conception of "It's time for snow," possessing both a side as serene as snow and a side as passionate as fire, hoping everyone can feel the dedication behind switching between different styles.
