Sigewinne in Genshin Impact possesses distinct Melusine racial traits alongside a lively and curious nature. For this shoot, I decided to adopt a low-angle wide-angle selfie style to recreate her innocent, nimble, and approachable perspective. The focus of the whole look lies in the light blue short textured haircut and 3D rabbit ears, paired with a highly saturated big red bow to form a vibrant, cute color contrast. For makeup, I selected dark red contact lenses echoing her character design while emphasizing a wide soft blush around the eyes; combined with natural feathered eyebrows and glossy lips, this highlighted an endearing and sharp facial expression. Because close-up selfie distances reveal finer skin textures, base makeup quality was crucial—I used a high-coverage matte foundation paired with localized highlighting to ensure full mid-face volume, preventing wide-angle lenses from flattening features.
The outfit details are remarkably rich. The biggest highlight is the exaggerated dark red gold-striped bow at the neck; its drape and dimensionality rely on stiff fabric support, while the centered heart-shaped sapphire metal brooch serves as the finishing touch to emphasize delicacy. The jacket features light blue as its primary tone, bordered by white and pink decorative trim with gold lock-stitching at the seams. Pure white high-elasticity gloves fit finger contours tightly, enabling nimble handling of props. Shooting props were equally clever: the pink cylindrical toy held in my right hand features golden cartoon patterns and heart-shaped raised motifs with a dreamlike palette. The brass cylinder prop in the bottom left foreground serves to balance visual weight, infusing rich scene presence beyond focusing solely on the character in this Anime-style outfit.
Because a wide-angle close-up lens was used, perspective distortion ("near large, far small") is magnified. While this composition easily elongates arms or foreground objects, stabilizing upper body posture transforms this into an engaging illusion of the character interacting directly with you. The forward-reaching movement of my left hand, paired with a slight head tilt toward the camera, gives the shot immense impact and immersion. To capture this frame well, I experimented with head angles several times to ensure the rabbit ears at wide-angle edges avoided obvious warping, forming a stable and symmetrical structure within the composition. Regarding lighting setup, I employed bright white light from a softbox, utilizing diffuse reflections to smooth out facial shadows, effectively softening under-nose and chin shadows so the character looks youthful and maidenly.
A white chest of drawers as a backdrop is clean and simple, contrasting brightly against blue hair and red neckbow to make colors pop. This minimalist indoor environment appears simple, yet demands higher emotional expression from the model to fully immerse into character state. Within costume details, I added hidden inner straps inside the jacket to prevent wrinkling during larger movements. The wig was spot-styled with hair wax to preserve casual loose strands along cheeks, adding everyday warmth. This effort aimed not only to recreate her external image but also to capture her core personality. Although balancing angles, props, makeup, and expressions was demanding during Cosplay photography, seeing the bright, playful results in the final images made every effort worthwhile. This is the exact visual experience I wanted to convey.
