Today's casual outfit shoot for Hyacinthia turned out exceptionally photogenic, and a lot of effort went into everything from the styling to choosing the shooting location. Hyacinthia's red-and-white color-blocked uniform in Honkai: Star Rail is extremely recognizable, and the moment I received the outfit, I carefully studied its fit and material. The essence of this outfit lies in the long white knitted cardigan featuring red and blue geometric patterns. To make it drape naturally in front of the camera, I specially steam-ironed it before the shoot. The inner red small lapel top and blue tie are the visual center; I adjusted the tie knot several times to ensure it matches the original design while looking neat. The pink twin-tail wig is the centerpiece of the styling. I chose a matte high-temperature fiber, and the light blue gradient highlights at the tips of the hair were specially given a slight curl, creating a wonderful lively feel when moving. The bangs of the wig were also trimmed to a length that just avoids blocking the vision while sufficiently flattering the face shape.
To match this strongly casual outfit, I decided to set the shooting location in a large home goods supermarket. This everyday scene gives the character a lively, grounded atmosphere, closing the distance with everyone. Shooting in a supermarket presents the biggest challenges: lighting and passersby. Supermarket overhead lighting is quite mixed, so I tried my best to keep the subject close to natural light or areas with relatively uniform spotlights to avoid harsh overhead lighting casting ugly shadows on the face. Today I brought a white rabbit pendant and an oversized blue-and-white shark plushie as props; with these small objects, poses during photoshoots are less likely to feel stiff. You can try interacting with a shopping cart, supporting the shelf with one hand, or even lifting the plushie above your head—these small actions wonderfully showcase the character's personality.
I really like the pose in the first photo: standing sideways with one leg slightly bent, which beautifully displays the cut of the skirt. At the same time, the combination of white over-the-knee socks and black platform Mary Jane shoes visually elongates the leg lines, and the red-and-white striped sock cuffs echo elements of the outfit. When shooting, I make sure to shift my body weight slightly to one side rather than standing completely straight, making it look more relaxed. In front of tall shelves in the storage area, you can use depth to highlight the character, trying different angles for looking back to find the clearest catchlights and facial contours.
Walking around the mall in this outfit definitely turns heads, and many people cast curious gazes. As a coser, it is essential to remain polite when shooting in public places, try not to block pathways, and watch out for crowds when using shopping carts. If you are going out to take photos, it's best to communicate with mall staff in advance, as some areas may not allow large photography lighting equipment. However, this time I used natural light plus a small fill light, essentially without disturbing anyone else.
There are truly so many details to this outfit, such as the red ribbon decoration at the shorts pockets and the woven texture at the hem of the cardigan. During post-processing color grading, I deliberately kept the high saturation of the three colors—red, white, and blue—making the image look brighter and fresher. I hope everyone enjoys this daily mini-theater featuring Hyacinthia; this red and white outfit is truly both cute and energetic.
