[March 7th cosplay] Capturing the Youthful Charm of Honkai: Star Rail in These Photos

When today's photos came out, I stared at them for a long time, feeling that the overall texture and atmosphere truly met my expectations. This shoot was done as an indoor studio photo shoot, and a lot of effort went into decorating the venue. The abundance of blue and white floral arrangements along with the cascading white drapes perfectly echoed the color scheme of my outfit. This photo spot at Diwang Plaza cosplay really delivers great results, and with the seamless coordination of photographer C-kun @Ccccc💮, the entire shooting process went incredibly smoothly.

Let's start with the outfit. The color scheme of this look is mainly white, sky blue, and cyan-blue, which is bright and clean. Especially under the warm indoor lights, the fabric of the clothes reveals a slight pearlescent sheen, which is very pleasing. The sleeves have a looser design, patched with semi-transparent light blue sheer fabric that sways naturally as I move, adding a touch of lively elegance to the overall look. The wide black belt at the waist and the black patchwork design at the hem beautifully balance the airy feeling of the dominant light colors, drawing the visual focus inward. The white thigh ring strapped on my thigh and the tied light blue ribbon are small details I personally love; this asymmetrical decoration enriches the side profile immensely. The brown block-heeled ankle boots on my feet are designed quite cleverly—the dark shoe body contrasts with the bright colors of the upper body, while the blue-soled patchwork details and the golden star decorations on the shafts perfectly align with the overall color logic.

To stay true to the character, I chose a light pink short wig with straight bangs, styled with distinct layers. Paired with light blue contact lenses, my expressions look clearer and more translucent. For makeup, I deliberately toned down heavy eyeshadow, focusing instead on a clean eye look and long, slender lashes, which conveys the youthful and bright vibe typical of the character. Although a lot of thought went into the wig and makeup, the comfort of wearing them all day had to be considered in advance; this wig material was very lightweight and didn't feel stuffy. To avoid blocking the sparkle in my eyes, I specially selected light blue contact lenses with high central brightness and natural edges, making the eye contact in all three photos feel quite engaging.

A very important prop for this shoot was the bright blue camera model in my hand. Not only is this camera prop's color highly eye-catching, but it also did a great job of curing the awkwardness of not knowing where to put my hands while posing. Especially when holding it to mimic shooting actions, the overall sense of interaction spiked instantly. To prevent my hands from looking too plain, I also wore black fingerless gloves, which not only made my hand lines look sharper but also created a nice color contrast with the brown boots.

We ended up with three photos, each carrying a different vibe. The first is a full-body shot making a peace sign; standing on that circular base beautifully elongated my body proportions, showcasing a classic, energetic interaction. The second is a single-leg standing pose, shifting my weight to one leg with my hands slightly raised. This asymmetrical stance is actually a real test of balance, but once pulled off, it creates great visual tension and beautifully showcases my leg lines and those brown block-heeled ankle boots. The second single-leg pose deliberately highlights the white strap decoration on the outer thigh, which, paired with the slightly windswept hem of the skirt, reveals clean leg lines that look light yet design-forward. Walking around in these boots can be quite challenging, but fortunately, the heels are sturdy, so standing for a long time wasn't tiring. The third is a portrait holding the camera prop in a semi-squatting or standing stance; although the range of motion is small, the camera presence is completely different.

I want to give a special shoutout to photographer C-kun @Ccccc💮. Before every shoot, we always communicate the desired style and angles beforehand. This time, I mentioned wanting a clean, refreshing yet playful style, and he perfectly captured what I wanted in both lighting and composition. The environment and live set at Diwang Plaza provided an excellent foundation; the white display pillars and floral arrangements didn't steal the visual focus from the subject but rather framed the character like a picture frame, wrapping me in a quiet, dreamy little space. Shooting this refreshing style really tests the softness of the lighting; too harsh a light would make the subject look stiff, but this time the lighting control was incredibly comfortable, making the skin look very natural. In post-processing, we didn't tweak the hues and lighting tones too much, only slightly brightening the facial contours and slightly lowering the saturation of the blue-and-white florals to preserve that soft, creamy texture. The wrinkles of the white sheer curtains combined with the lighting acted like a natural softbox, allowing every shutter click to capture superb light reflections. Aside from these three final photos, there were actually quite a few outtakes from different angles and poses, but they still left me with wonderful memories of the shoot. I'm already looking forward to shooting other styles in this setting as a casual cosplay project next time.
