After putting on this wig and costume for Hyacinthia cosplay, I snapped a couple of quick selfies indoors to capture my look before heading out for the outdoor shoot. The color of the Pink wig is utterly dreamy—soft pink with teal-blue dyed tips on the twin tails. Layering it and styling the airy fluff took quite some time. To match the character's clear blue-green eyes, I specially chose high-pigment contact lenses; this cool tone paired with pink hair creates a vivid visual clash. The red bowler hat on top, white ribbon bow accessories, and cute white pompoms on both sides give the voluminous crown a fuller, adorable silhouette. These small accessories test your patience the most, requiring repeated adjustments to stay centered.
When wearing the outfit, my initial focus was the neckline's layering. The white high-neck base top paired with the vibrant bright-blue bow tie at the neck serves as the focal point of the upper body. The extensive silver glitter pattern on the chest refracts a delicate shimmer under indoor lighting. Complemented by deep-red color-blocking at the cuffs and hem alongside golden metal accents, the overall red-white-blue-gold palette feels richly layered yet harmonious in Anime-style fashion.
Taking these two photos, I avoided complicated poses, focusing instead on a relaxed feel for this Casual cosplay record. For the first shot, I angled slightly to let the camera fully capture facial details, directly showcasing the clean makeup and winged eyeliner curve. In the second shot, I tilted my head and lightly pinched a strand of the teal-blue hair tips with my fingers; this gesture felt far more dynamic than standing still, while nicely displaying the hair texture and parting volume. When styling the bangs this time, I parted them carefully so wisps fell naturally above the eyes, framing the face while adding lively dimension. Along the hairline, I applied specialized concealer and contouring techniques to ensure the wig lace edge blended seamlessly without looking harsh.
Both photos were taken directly with a smartphone without heavy editing. I believe this authentic pre-shoot state better allows everyone to appreciate the true colors and textures of the costume. Cosplay is never just about putting on clothes; to maximize the character's essence, every step requires care—from wig brushing and facial contouring to smoothing the garments.
In today's Anime-style fashion and photo culture, it's easy to get swept up in excessive post-processing, but I've always believed that when the base styling is solid, editing is just the cherry on top. Facing the camera indoors, I intentionally preserved natural skin texture and authentic tones. The blue bow tie and teal hair ends created an intriguing echo, maintaining the overall harmony of the styling.
