[Hyacinthia Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, A Spring Letter Intertwined in Pink and Blue

A lot of effort went into this Hyacinthia look right from the makeup test, especially the red velvet-textured deep-V outerwear paired with the black-and-white inner top featuring silver thread piping, which looks exceptionally exquisite in person. To ensure stability for the head accessory with white wings and a gold ring, we created a multi-layer buckle structure inside, which doesn't press on the scalp while maintaining overall balance from both front and side angles during shooting.

Wig processing was one of the key focuses this time. This pink-and-white highlighted wig integrates cyan-blue at the hair ends. This color gradient transition strongly tests wig trimming techniques, especially the bangs, which must fall right above the eyes to avoid blocking the luster of contact lenses while preserving the fluffy cuteness of the original setting. The matching teal bow tie and metal pendant make the neck layer richer.

When taking this set of photos, I chose natural light. Photo 2 is the result directly generated from the unedited original shot with the subject centered; the wink combined with the V-sign gesture gives the frame a great sense of interactivity. Paired with the blue-green contact lenses I specifically chose, it makes the eyes look brighter and more lively. Photo 1 adds some pink-and-white stickers and halo effects to create a more lively and dreamy atmosphere. Meanwhile, the chibi illustration in Photo 3 filled with happy suns and heart elements is fan art drawn by my partner—seeing such a cute chibi image, I couldn't resist sharing it together.

For this outfit, I am actually most satisfied with its tailoring. The fit on top is moderately snug, and the hem of the red skirt flatters the figure just right without feeling too heavy when walking, looking very sleek. As for makeup, combining peach and nude lip tones effectively counterbalanced the visual sweetness brought by the pink wig, giving the character a touch of calm poise amidst playfulness. The pink hair color paired with cyan hair ends, combined with the blue-green bow tie, creates a very comfortable color contrast. This combination looks amazing in photos, maintaining rich color depth even in harsh high-key light and shadow environments.

Actually, when shooting characters with magical or fantasy settings previously, it was inevitable to worry about fabrics reflecting too much light under natural lighting. However, this fabric's luster is controlled very well, presenting a soft glow effect under light sources. During the shoot, I tried various angles—from a slightly low angle to increase height proportions, to close-up shots demonstrating makeup and bow tie details. Photo 2, where I closed one eye and made a V-sign gesture, was intended to express that easygoing, casual temperament of the character.

To prevent the wing halo on top from looking bulky, I divided the hairstyle into many slightly wavy layers, which not only looks voluminous but also focuses the head's visual weight on the wig itself, letting the halo serve as a finishing accent. I'm sharing this work here, hoping the accompanying text and images allow everyone to feel the unique vitality of this character.
