Today, fully equipped, I planned to find an empty classroom on campus to shoot Mornye from Wuthering Waves. But after checking three or four buildings in a row, every usable room was occupied by studying students—my luck was practically at rock bottom. Left with no other choice, I stood in the corridor and found a clean wall to serve as a backdrop. Shooting in a stairwell actually tests your technique quite a bit: with ceiling lights overhead on all sides, the lighting was rather flat, but it happened to suit this cool-toned makeup look perfectly. The fabric of this high-collar Uniform is quite stiff and structured; the collar fit tightly around the neck, especially digging into my chin whenever I looked down. The pair of triangular gold earrings was heavier than expected, leaving my earlobes aching a bit after wearing them for a while. The wig is silver-gray with subtle purple undertones, easily getting frizzy if not combed through properly before shooting. For makeup, I specifically opted for red contact lenses, which brought out just the right amount of sharp, aloof severity on camera. Even though the setting was far from ideal, holding up my phone for a Stairwell selfie—hunting for flattering angles and framing the half-body proportions—was quite a test of arm strength. Without a professional photographer, it came down to continuous trial and error and lighting adjustments. By the end, my arm was aching, but seeing the finished shots on screen made all that hassle completely worthwhile.
