For this Mid-Autumn Festival themed ancient style photoshoot, I chose a pink-and-white gradient color palette. The outer layer is made of airy chiffon embroidered with delicate plum blossoms and subtle shimmer, layered over a soft inner slip. Generous white feather trims grace the shoulders and cuffs, fluttering gracefully with every movement. To suit the Mid-Autumn atmosphere, my hair was styled into twin buns paired with fluffy Animal ears headpieces, accented on the sides with white blossoms, pink berries, and pom-pom ornaments for a playful touch.
The makeup emphasized layered eye contours, blending pink eyeshadow towards the outer corners paired with elongated lashes and red lips to ensure an expressive gaze on camera. The set featured traditional Chinese furniture, a giant circular moon lamp in the background beside an artificial tree in full white bloom, and scrolls with porcelain tea sets across the desk. Smoke pellets were used on-site to generate a drifting haze effect, which, paired with warm yellow lighting, beautifully amplified the festive Mid-Autumn ambiance.
We incorporated numerous small props throughout the shoot. In my hand was a miniature black woven bamboo lantern holding orange persimmons, symbolizing good fortune and fulfillment. I also held matching persimmons beside my cheek for visual contrast or lifted them directly toward the camera. A small white plush bunny made another wonderful prop to interact with—cradling it in my arms or resting it on the tabletop elevated the overall cuteness. Small white porcelain vases and teacups arranged on the table blended organically into poses mimicking sipping tea.
@柏油小星瞳 was exceptionally professional with lighting and shadow control: the warm key light illuminating my face rendered my skin translucent and luminous, while the moon lamp in the background provided a gentle rim light. In terms of posing guidance, we explored a wide array of postures—sitting poised on the floor holding the lantern, turning sideways to look back over my shoulder, and lifting the skirt hem to twirl and send the chiffon flowing. To maximize the skirt's spread in seated poses, I continually adjusted the folds and drape of the chiffon to ensure it spread evenly across the floor in a picturesque fan shape.
Positioning the fluffy Animal ears also required continuous fine-tuning—ensuring they sat organically while remaining fully visible in front of the lens, all while balancing visually with the floral ornaments tucked into the hair buns. Completing this shoot took several hours, with every step from hair and makeup to set dressing carefully coordinated. The finished lighting textures and color saturation fully matched our vision, seamlessly merging soft pink-and-white tones with warm yellow ambient light to deliver a serene, sweet aesthetic.
