[Citlali cosplay] Genshin Impact Citlali: A Languid At-Home Daily Life

Sharing my latest completed cosplay photoshoot as Citlali from Genshin Impact today! The concept for this shoot centered around that cozy, freshly awakened morning lull, so the overarching atmosphere required no sharp edge—leaning entirely into effortless, unhurried relaxation instead.

Starting with hair and makeup: Citlali's pastel pink hair is instantly recognizable, so I braided colorful micro-plaits along the sides, tied off the ends with plush scrunchies, and accented the crown with her signature yellow teardrop hair ornament. The makeup focal points were the purple geometric face markings and bright blue contact lenses. To evoke that just-woke-up look, the foundation was kept sheer and dewy, layered with a generous wash of blush across the cheeks to mimic a natural morning flush. The eye makeup was dialed back to achieve an effortless 'no-makeup' polish. While studio lenses tend to wash out subtle pigmentation, this color balance looked delightfully gentle under soft natural light.

For wardrobe, I chose relaxed white Homewear pajamas crafted from a lightweight fabric with an organic crinkle weave, keeping the lines from looking flat while accentuating the garment's tactile softness. Because the setting was an all-white bed against a bright white background, lighting design proved pivotal. We utilized diffuse natural window light paired with subtle bounce fill from a reflector, preserving high-key brightness while retaining translucent, creamy skin textures. To prevent an all-white frame from reading as sterile, I brought a throw pillow patterned with blue and purple geometric prints; this tied together the hue of my wig and facial markings beautifully, enriching chromatic depth across the composition.

Posing on set tested subtle body control. To project authentic bedhead ease, I explored various relaxed positions: lying prone with feet kicked up playfully, sitting cross-legged while hugging the pillow, and sprawling flat across the duvet. Being barefoot throughout made bed comfort paramount. When posing on my stomach, I shifted my weight forward onto bent forearms, infusing my gaze with a hazy, half-sleepy charm. Hand placement was equally decisive—clasping the pillow tightly or lightly grazing a bare foot added lived-in nuances that kept the scene from feeling like stiff, posed portraiture.

The trickiest element throughout the session was keeping the wig and pajamas looking tidy. The soft mattress created fresh fabric creases with every micro-movement, requiring constant adjustments to ensure the folds looked airy and intentional rather than rumpled. After every pose burst, I reset the braids and headpiece so every camera angle stood up to scrutiny. While at-home lifestyle shoots can be physically demanding, they are extraordinarily rewarding—free from the stiffness of armored battle gear, allowing complete creative freedom to embody the character.

This shoot aimed to reveal Citlali's quiet, everyday side—no elaborate props, no grandiose digital backdrops, just pure at-home tranquility. I hope everyone enjoys this serene mood and continues supporting my cosplay work!
