[Ganyu Cosplay] Qipao cosplay Convention photos: Showcasing Unique Character Charm

The fourth wave of Convention photos from the May 1st Shanghai ICG has finally dropped! This time, I'm sharing the Qipao cosplay look for Ganyu from Genshin Impact. The venue was bustling with visitors, and the set for this shoot featured a white plush fleece carpet. The dress combines deep and bright blues with fabric that gleams subtly under the lights, accented with embroidered golden cloud motifs, red cords, and a leg garter to create wonderful visual layering. The diamond-shaped blue gem at the waist and the oversized bow at the back are highlights, while the dress's high side slit flatters leg contours beautifully, pairing with high heels to elongate proportions.

Because the skirt is relatively short, seated and kneeling poses had to be carefully managed to avoid wardrobe slips. The photographer specifically prepared a translucent round silk fan; holding it to playfully conceal part of the face while interacting with the lens infused a touch of mystery and classical grace. During the shoot, I continually calibrated my expressions, keeping my gaze as soft as possible—in the game, Ganyu radiates quiet gentleness, so even in this somewhat sultry modified qipao, the vibe shouldn't appear overtly aggressive. The wig disheveled easily, requiring frequent readjustments to the red horns and cloud headpieces. With sheer chiffon sleeves, hand gestures had to be restrained to avoid catching on the fabric.

Running around an anime convention in high heels and a miniskirt is genuinely exhausting; I had to take a long rest after wrapping up this set. The photographer's lighting was exquisite: top lighting paired with ground reflectors rendered the skin luminous and translucent, while side-lying poses flatteringly highlighted lines from the hips down to the thighs—especially lounging or leaning against the fleece carpet, which cultivated a lazy, relaxed mood. Although gorgeous, this outfit demands strict posing discipline when sitting down; one must elongate leg lines and point the toes straight to keep the frame looking effortless and natural.

Reviewing these Convention photos, the collaboration was thoroughly delightful, and I'm deeply grateful to the photographer for crouching on the floor to find the best angles. This experience deepened my understanding of this 2D character: whether amidst drifting blizzards or clad in this Qipao cosplay, Ganyu's quiet composure shines through consistently, and that very contrast defines the character's enchanting charm.
