Shooting this set of Utau photos was largely due to her resolute way of survival. The shackles bestowed upon the Tsukiyomi family by fate—she chose to shoulder them alone. Abandoning so-called kind innocence, she has kept fighting with her song until now, and has kept winning all the way. This is also the core emotion I tried to convey throughout the entire shooting process.

For the styling part, to restore the character's aura, the wig was chosen as a very voluminous golden twin-tails. The hair ends needed to be combed smooth; to create an ethereal feel, an assistant was deliberately asked to fan air from a blind spot of the lens during the shoot, cooperating with the shutter to capture the moment of flying hair strands. In terms of makeup, the contact lenses were chosen in a bluish-purple style, and the eye makeup particularly emphasized a large area of red shading from the lower eyelids to the cheeks, creating a visual effect that is exhausted yet with a sharp gaze, carrying a battle-damaged or yandere texture. This kind of makeup was not meant for sweetness, but to reflect the sharpness after she abandoned weakness.

The details on the clothing are quite numerous. The black leather-textured dress has a strong reflection under the lights, which requires the photographer to precisely control the light position when lighting, otherwise the clothes easily turn into a lump of black or suffer from over-reflection. The white lapel and yellow diamond-shaped decorations break the dullness of the black. The black lace arm cuffs on the upper arms and the light purple long gloves formed a material contrast with the main dress. The lower body is paired with black mesh stockings and platform buckled leather shoes, which not only elongated the leg lines but also increased the Gothic feel and aggressiveness of the overall styling. During the shoot, the mesh of the fishnets easily deformed at the knee bends, so after every kneeling pose, I needed to slightly adjust the direction of the stockings to ensure the lines looked smooth in the lens.

In terms of action design, I didn't choose overly sweet poses. Because this is a character who has abandoned innocence, I controlled my facial expressions throughout the entire process, trying my best to maintain that stern, confident, and even slightly oppressive state. The kneeling poses in the first and third photos, paired with the action of reaching out towards the lens, resemble that sense of control Utau has on stage. The second photo is a half-body close-up with a relatively low camera position and hands reaching forward, creating a tension of direct dialogue with the audience. This kind of body language design aims to reflect her inner unwillingness to compromise and her characteristic foundation of winning all the way through.

To strengthen the atmosphere of battle and the stage, dark smoke and some drifting spark particles were added to the background processing during post-production. These light effects not only enriched the layering of the frame but also echoed her background setting of fighting with her song. Since the clothing material is leather, it absorbs ambient light heavily in dim lighting environments. When lighting, we added a cool color-temperature rim light to outline her from the dark background, while using a warm-colored rim light on the edges of the hair strands to form a cool-warm contrast, increasing the three-dimensional feel of the frame.

Overall, the cooperation from makeup and hair to photography and post-production for this set of photos went very smoothly, and everyone communicated about details on-site without any friction. I didn't want to overly interpret her pain, but rather wanted to showcase the confidence and backbone she still possesses to stand on stage and declare victory after experiencing all of this. I hope the final presented effect allows everyone to feel the character's toughness in shouldering everything alone.
