This Wuthering Waves Phoebe studio shoot has an exceptionally high degree of overall design alignment. This outfit I'm wearing, a white robe paired with bright blue ribbons, looks visually very clean. The high-contrast blue and white color scheme, adorned with golden piping, looks particularly refreshing against the pure white studio background. Before the shoot, I actually spent quite a bit of time styling the golden wig because the character has a huge volume of hair, featuring an iconic cross shape on top of the head that also needs to integrate perfectly with the white wide-brimmed large hat. To prevent the hat on top of the head from looking too heavy, the stylist and I made supports at the roots of the hair, ensuring that while the hat sits very securely, it wouldn't flatten the fluffiness of the hair. The edges of the white hat are slightly curved, echoing the long sleeves of the robe, presenting a slightly flowing visual effect.
In terms of studio lighting, this time we used high-powered softboxes to simulate a diffuse reflection, high-brightness environment, so the light and shadow effects you see are very even. The pure white walls paired with a light-colored floor, along with a white cylindrical display stage like this, mean the performer only needs to complete movements on this small platform to create a very clean and ethereal image tone. During lighting, special attention was also paid to the texture of the black prints and lace patchwork positions on the clothes, which couldn't be shot as flat white; the thickness and layers of the fabric had to be reflected through the contrast of light and shadow. Especially the bright blue ribbons tied around the neck and waist, which have high color saturation; if the light is too harsh, it easily over-reflects. We repeatedly adjusted the angle of the soft light, and I am very satisfied with the final matte texture presented here.
During the posing process, the set of frontal photos actually put my control to the test. Raising my right hand to touch the brim of the hat, the body needs to maintain a slightly forward-leaning curve while kneeling on the cylindrical platform, using gravity to stabilize the center of gravity while showcasing the leg lines. The material of the white tights is very form-fitting, and paired with the barefoot look, this sense of being well-behaved yet a bit playful is actually a spot that easily catches the audience's eye. I also tried a side-glance posture, which is the angle in the photo looking back at the camera. This kind of movement can better display the tailoring on the side of the clothes, and the drape of the blue ribbons extends along the side, making the character's spatial three-dimensional sense even stronger. Throughout the entire shoot, I tried my best to maintain a focused and cool gaze, and the photographer also captured many moments where the expressions were perfectly on point.
In terms of other details, a black leather glove is worn on the right hand. To prevent it from looking dull in photos, I intentionally chose a tighter-fitting cut for the glove. Combined with the loose sleeves, the black-and-white patchwork at the cuffs becomes very layered. The black lining at the neckline and the golden trim are also classic 2D design elements; paired with the long golden hair, the color collisions in the frame are rich yet don't look cluttered. During post-shoot editing, we didn't do any particularly exaggerated color grading, focusing instead on softening the skin tone and touching up tiny wrinkles on the clothes, just keeping this high-key and bright feeling of the original image. This studio shoot lasted from morning until afternoon, and although every pose had to be repeatedly adjusted many times, seeing this refreshing style of the final results made everything feel worth it. This character styling is truly suitable for presentation in this high-brightness pure white style, magnifying the cool temperament interwoven with blue and white. I hope my shooting and matching concepts can provide a reference for everyone, fully showcasing the character's own cleanliness and dynamic agility through the lens.
