This time, I tried Justina Gu's Pavilion Master of Hidden Rain look from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, and the icy blue tones fit the winter vibe perfectly. This costume has a lot of details, not only featuring fluffy trim on the edges but also blue beads and frog buttons distributed throughout. To avoid looking bulky, the upper body maintains a slim-fit design paired with a wide, fluffy shawl, which offers both the elegance of Ancient style photography and a sense of visual warmth for winter outdoor settings. The flowers and tassels on the round fan are the perfect finishing touch; holding it in hand balances the composition nicely and masks any stiffness that easily occurs when holding a prop with one hand.
Before the shoot, we specially set up a scene with elements of Chinese style aesthetics, where the lattice screen and warm yellow lanterns created a cozy atmosphere. The low wooden table and the extending white gauze provided an excellent sense of depth and layers, naturally enveloping the character within the scene in terms of composition. The warm light hitting the blue-and-white attire creates a contrast between warm and cool tones, enhancing the three-dimensional depth of the frame. This shoot utilized Meike lenses paired with Dpbit Image equipment, which wonderfully rendered the texture of the clothing material. Especially under the refraction of light, the fluffiness of the white fur collar and the wrinkles of the silk fabric were naturally restored.
It happened to be a cold snap when shooting this look. Although it was an indoor set, in order to pursue a more natural posture, I needed to maintain the harmony of movement and expression for a long time, which was a bit of a test for physical endurance and state maintenance. However, seeing the pure, flawless, and slightly gentle temperament of the Pavilion Master of Hidden Rain captured in the final photos, I feel that the cold and exhaustion endured earlier were all worth it. A lot of thought was poured into restoring the details of this look, and I am very satisfied with the final presentation.
