When I got this outfit of Madam Herta, the things that gave me the biggest headache were that huge pointed hat and the complicated silver-trimmed patterns, but the moment I put it on, I felt everything was worth it. For this shoot, a vintage study scene was specially set up, with purple-toned lighting coordinating with scattered ancient books and blue butterflies, wanting to objectify that unique sense of mystery and detachment peculiar to a member of the 'Genius Society'. The makeup artist understood the character features very well; the eye makeup and lip color balanced out the coldness brought by the silver-white wig, making the overall temperament fit Herta's condescending yet slightly playful personality better. In terms of props, the cane and the magic book were both customized for restoration; waving them in my hand genuinely gave me a touch of chunibyo pleasure of 'fools, begone!'. During post-processing editing, the fine dust and lens flares in the scene were deliberately retained to give the frame more breathing room. Shooting a character with so many details highly tests the photographer's capturing ability, as they need to balance both the flowing hair strands and the layers of the skirt hem. I am very satisfied with the atmosphere presented this time; although the styling is complex, the output effect is special enough. Sitting on the carpet in over-knee boots for nearly two hours, my legs were indeed a bit sore, but seeing the finished photos in the playback made me feel all the hard work was worth it. This set of work required quite a lot of thought from the costume to the post-processing, and I hope those who like this character can get the dedication put into it.
