[Jun and Jie cosplay] Arknights The Sui Siblings' Lime Promise

The inspiration for this creation stems from "Until the Earth Turns into a Lime" in the Arknights Creator Support Project, where my partner and I attempted a live-action realization of Jun and Jie from The Sui Siblings.

The overall atmosphere was established first. Inspired by the line in the theme, "If you shed a tear, if I could accompany you as we grow old," what we wanted to convey was not a typical combat scene, but a visual sense rich with the passage of time and the tenderness of deep bonds. The shooting day had a very quiet ambiance, which perfectly matched the bittersweet emotion of impending parting and lingering attachment depicted in the fan art.

Regarding the styling details, the wig is long, straight purple hair paired with custom-crafted pointed ears to clearly highlight character traits. For the Jun and Jie outfit, I especially love the cuff and collar designs—a primary white tone paired with black lining, coupled with futuristic yet Chinese-style gold patterns on the gloves, perfectly aligns with the signature aesthetic of Arknights. The orange and white beaded bracelets served as key accents, and during the actual shoot, we specifically reserved shots for hand close-ups. The prop sword was the centerpiece this time; with a gold ring on the hilt and gradient, translucent effects on the blade, it took considerable time to polish the reflective surface, resulting in a remarkably clear and luminous look in the final photos.

In front of the camera, beyond executing the poses, conveying emotion was paramount. In the upper close-up shot, with tear streaks on my face and my head slightly lowered, my partner leaned in with eyes closed, gently caressing my cheek. We adjusted angles repeatedly for this moment—avoiding hair obstructing the line of sight while preserving an intimate closeness—and the captured frame truly held that poignant, tender sorrow in the eyes.

The hand scene was a recreation of the lower half of the illustration: both characters' hands gripping the same sword together, one behind the other, creating a sense of symmetry and mutual trust in the composition. The luster on the prop sword and the layered colors of the gloves were amplified in this close-up. To ensure natural finger placement, we slightly adjusted the framing to eliminate background distractions, focusing the viewer's gaze entirely on the textures of the props and clothing.

Participating in the Arknights Creator Support Project was a deeply rewarding and challenging attempt. Balancing natural performance with anime cosplay aesthetics to match the ethereal feel of the original illustration was quite a task. Overall, I am very satisfied with this photo set, as it captured the emotional depth and atmosphere we envisioned.
