Sharing my thoughts on shooting Yin Ziping's Chalcedony ice core outfit from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. The costume's materials are exceptionally refined, featuring a dominant white tone complemented by extensive lace ruffles and translucent chiffon, with a black bow at the neckline serving as an elegant accent. Before shooting, I discussed the visual style with the photographer and decided to integrate wisteria flowers amidst natural wood tones, tatami mats, and a calligraphy backdrop, creating a cool, pristine, and sophisticated classical ambiance. The base tights and long white stockings looked stunning under the lighting, not only matching the ethereal design of the Chalcedony ice core theme but also beautifully flattering the leg lines.

The first seated side-angle pose was quite relaxed, primarily showcasing the overall design of the costume. The second pose, seated on a futon cushion, highlighted the frontal details and the neckline construction. The third pose featured an oil-paper umbrella, using its canopy to filter sunlight and create soft, delicate lighting. However, the fourth pose—kneeling on one knee while drawing the staff horizontally—was the most challenging to execute. This move required strong core strength and tested leg flexibility, visually elongating body proportions while allowing the skirt and lace to drape naturally; this shot was ultimately chosen as the cover. Throughout the session, three props were used: a folding fan, a staff, and an oil-paper umbrella, with bamboo scrolls and wisteria keeping the background richly populated. Post-processing focused on preserving natural skin texture and garment fabric details without exaggerated distortions, relying instead on wide-angle perspective and stretched posing for visual impact. Because the costume's tailoring is very form-conscious, meticulous preparation was done prior to the shoot. Though the process was tiring, our synergy was seamless and the final results are immensely rewarding. Lastly, a gentle reminder to always prioritize privacy and comfort during shoots; creating within safe, compliant settings is the ideal state for any Anime cosplay.
