This time, I tried the Dance Among Flowers skin for Gongsun Li from Honor of Kings. The overall look follows a cool, ethereal, yet slightly charming and playful path. The blue gradient wig went through multiple layers of thinning so that it could present a fluffy, flowing texture under dynamic movement. The rabbit ears by my head were also specially selected in a velvet fabric with a slight pink gradient, visually bringing it closer to the fluffy touch of the original art. For the costume, the white-and-pink patchwork of the upper body and the layered ruffles at the waist required repeated adjustments to the tailoring, ensuring the clothing wouldn't wrinkle during sitting or umbrella-holding poses while maintaining the three-dimensional feel of the petal shapes.
That giant blue flower umbrella was the highlight of the props this time. The canopy used highly transparent organza shaped with a frame, giving off a very translucent glowing effect when the light hit it. To match this dreamlike atmosphere, luminous butterfly light effects were specially added to the background as embellishments during the shoot. Regarding the choice of footwear, I decided to go barefoot paired with blue leg sleeves. Because the design of Dance Among Flowers itself carries an air of natural affinity for water and flowers, being barefoot can better capture that ethereal feeling of stepping alongside moss and streams, while also making the leg lines look more extended in the frame.
The shooting set was arranged with hanging wisteria branches and moss scenery, combined with cool-toned rim lighting, attempting to recreate the maiden vibe of Dance Among Flowers shuttling through a fantasy realm in the game. A lot of thought went into this work from the makeup to the post-production color grading. I hope friends who see these photos can feel Ah Li's lightweight yet playful traits through this Cosplay photography work.
