From the Xianzhou to cyber streets, I chose an outdoor wasteland-style scene to complete this on-location shoot of Sparkle. Thanks to teamwork, amidst a backdrop interwoven with blue-purple smoke and retro televisions, the details of this red-white-black color-blocking plaid outfit were fully showcased.

The shoot used a Sony A7M4 paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II, a combination that effectively handled the lighting challenges in a cluttered environment. Especially that black-and-white bunny-eared mini top hat and the little bunny ornament at the waist looked highly layered under the lens. The red glove-shaped weapon in my hands presented a nice texture under the light, though lifting it required good wrist strength.

During the shoot, we used colorful ribbon streamers to add a sense of movement. The blue ambient light and the red of the clothes formed a warm-cold contrast, making the visual impact of the frame even stronger. The wig is made of high-reflective material, requiring repeated adjustments to the hair strands' direction to achieve the fluffiness seen in the photos. The production team put a lot of thought into the props and costume this time; I am personally most satisfied with the multi-layered ruffled design of the skirt hem, which shows smooth lines whether standing or sitting.

In terms of poses, I focused heavily on capturing Sparkle's signature playful and nonchalant mood, so I chose various exaggerated yet playful postures. Old oil drums became excellent props for the shoot, and when sitting on them, the visual center of gravity of the frame extended naturally along the lines of the legs. The lighting adjustments for every single shoot and the heavy filtering of outtakes are what it takes to finally select a few satisfying final photos—this is also the daily homework of a cosplayer.

This kind of theme with street trendy toy elements looks more vivid compared to traditional studio shoots. The retro televisions in the frame even played character-related footage, making the interactive feel of the entire scene quite magical. Maintaining an understanding of the character's core while integrating some personal style into the costume, makeup, props, and scene was the greatest takeaway from this Anime cosplay shoot.
