The set for this shoot was designed with immense care: the entire wooden cabin was enveloped in the warm yellow glow of lanterns, while red maple leaves cascading from the eaves created a rich autumnal atmosphere. In shooting this Gongsun Li Cosplay featuring her default skin from Honor of Kings, the most crucial part was capturing the character's signature agile grace and subtle flirtatiousness. To start with the costume's fidelity, the cropped Japanese style top in shades of red and orange faithfully preserved the wide cuffs and midriff-baring cut of the original design; the white petal-shaped trim along the sleeve cuffs required fine fabric structure to maintain its flowing drape. The black trousers below incorporated high side slits, with golden maple leaf prints on the legs reflecting the light beautifully, subtly revealing the leg lines as I walked while preventing the expansive dark palette from looking dull. Red platform heels adorned with fluffy white pom-poms at the ankles created a fascinating illusion of interwoven weight and floating lightness with every step on the wooden floor. For hair and makeup, the defining elements of the default skin are the long golden hair and fluffy rabbit-ear headband. To give the wig a natural bounce, it was thinned and styled in layers; the full blunt bangs framed my face nicely, which, combined with peach-pink eyeshadow and distinctly separated eyelashes, emphasized the character's innocent yet clever eyes. The black choker around my neck had a slight metallic sheen, making it an eye-catching detail of the ensemble.
The red-and-white paper umbrella in hand was not only a flawless prop, but also a key piece for balancing the composition. When opened, the umbrella ribs intersected with the architecture of the wooden house; whether sitting quietly on a wooden stool or kneeling before a low tea table with fingers lightly resting on the handle, the character looked as though she had walked straight out of a painting. During the shoot, conveying narrative through body language was far more demanding than simply modeling the clothes. To break away from stiff poses, I tried many story-driven actions, such as holding a celadon teacup in quiet contemplation, pinching a red maple leaf between my fingertips, or holding the umbrella in front of me like a sword. Finding that sweet spot between aloof charm and playful allure unique to Gongsun Li through subtle glances required continuous discussion and adjustment with the photographer. The warm yellow light falling across the red-orange fabric echoed the layered maple leaves in the background. The charm of the default skin lies in how its classic design reveals fresh, captivating textures when framed by an evocative scene. From the delicate creases of the fabric to the placement of every prop, each element was carefully refined, and I hope everyone who sees these photos can feel that unique stillness and beauty of this autumn maple grove.
