[Mint cosplay] Summer Radiance Belonging to Neverness to Everness - Image 1

This Mint styling took about half a month of coordination from preparation to realization, and today we finally finished the early-stage shooting of the official photos. Actually, the first feeling upon receiving this outfit was the visual impact brought by the material differences. The outer white shawl chose a relatively stiff fabric, paired with gold chains and a black bow at the neckline, giving it a very strong overall structural sense. For the inner black corset and glossy pleated skirt, controlling the reflectivity was extremely crucial to capture the ideal texture under natural light. The lighting in Haikou on the shooting day was very strong, but fortunately, the photographer was very experienced in capturing light, utilizing the shadows of natural light to nicely outline the garment's contours.

The wig part is personally one of my favorite aspects. The blue-pink gradient twin tails, coupled with the beast-ear hair accessories on top of the head, retained their plush material texture without distortion even under strong light. To prevent the hair ends from looking heavy, I specifically performed tiered styling. In terms of makeup, red accents were added to the eye makeup, forming a contrast with the blue main tone and making it look more vibrant. When styling the wig, we also considered the direction of the wind blowing, allowing the captured dynamic effects to look more natural.

The Q-version mini doll in hand and the mechanical props placed nearby have plenty of details. To prevent the mini doll from stealing the spotlight before the lens, I tried a few different lifting angles, finally choosing a position slightly away from the face, which preserved the sense of interaction while not obstructing the overall facial contour. The mechanical accessories nearby were also treated as an auxiliary compositional element in the frame, used to balance the negative space between the subject and the environment.

In clothing coordination, the combination of white over-the-knee Stockings and black glossy short boots was also meant to give the lower body more layering. Although the boots' chunky heels made walking slightly strenuous, when standing and sitting, the heels' geometric shapes added some rugged lines to the frame. The gloves adopted a half-finger style, mainly for the convenience of adjusting props and clothing details while retaining a sharp, battle-ready feel.

The entire shooting process was actually quite demanding on physical strength, especially under the outdoor high temperature. When looking for angles by the seaside, we deliberately utilized tropical greenery in the background as an embellishment, forming a sharp color contrast with the blue sky and white clouds. To make the expression and posture fit the character's temperament better, I also repeatedly reviewed the character's setting during rest breaks, striving to exhibit a sense of poise and confidence before the lens.

However, seeing the composition and colors of the raw photos, I feel that all the early detail refinement was completely worth it. Especially the mottled light and shadow cast by sunlight penetrating the leaves into the background, paired with the overall blue-white-black color tone, maxes out the atmospheric vibe. That's all for this preview; we will continue to refine and complete other scenes in our next shoot.
