Winning the National Scholarship for three consecutive years can be considered a hardcore answer sheet delivered for my university life. At the same time, the cosplay convention photos in my phone album also witness the advancement of my aesthetics and skills over these three years. Thinking about it carefully, this kind of parallel, dual-track life trajectory is indeed quite thrilling.
Many people ask me how I balance heavy coursework, clubs, or project defenses with a wallet-draining and time-consuming cosplay hobby. I think the core key is "treating your hobby as a profession and enjoying your profession as a hobby." Refining the application materials for a scholarship each time is actually just like preparing a new cosplay look, requiring extreme patience and control over details. Especially during the National Scholarship defense period, my mental state could be described as repeatedly jumping between doing scientific research and making props.
Looking back at my cosplay works over the past three years, whether it was the naive attempts in the early stages or the refined photos now that I've gradually found my personal style, I can intuitively feel the changes in my thinking regarding aesthetics and presentation. From a player who simply enjoyed the fun of dressing up, I have gradually become a creator who considers composition, lighting, and post-processing coordination. The preparation before pressing the shutter every time is more thorough, and the presentation texture has noticeably improved.
On this path, reasonable time management is a must. I am used to prioritizing key academic milestones and utilizing fragmented time to research makeup techniques or organize props. Furthermore, the award money brought by the scholarships feeds back into my hobby, supporting more exquisite makeup sessions and a more reliable photography team time after time, forming a virtuous cycle. It is passion that gives me confidence.
In fact, there's no need to completely separate your hobby from your academics. When sharing "what kind of person I want to become" during the defense, I mentioned that I hope to always maintain passion and a sense of responsibility, and this hobby is precisely one of the carriers through which I manifest this love. It taught me confidence in front of the lens and composure when facing academic pressure.
I have drawn a temporary period to this university answer sheet, but I believe there is no end to the answer sheet of life. Maintaining this upward vitality, whether in real-world studies or the 2D world, navigating seamlessly between 2D and 3D, I will continue to march forward firmly. Thanks to my family, teachers, and partners for lifting me up every time; it is you who provided a solid backing for this splendid time of mine.
