[Robin Cosplay] Snow Angel of Honkai: Star Rail — First Convention Photos in a Custom Design Outfit

Inspired by Robin, I created a winter ice-and-snow custom design cosplay that took a lot of thought and effort from initial concept to final execution. The feather hair accessories and halo overhead were all hand-adjusted. To capture the weightless, airy feel of this fan concept, I chose an ice-blue wig paired with a strapless plush puff dress. The white faux fur trim along the skirt hem and layered pleats are the highlights—while wearing it makes me look a bit rounder, the fluffy visual movement while walking around turned out wonderfully satisfying.

The ambient light at the convention was quite chaotic with harsh overhead spotlights, so after discussing with the photographer, we opted for a high-contrast lighting scheme. This emphasized the rim lighting on the halo and hair strands while preserving natural skin texture. These convention photos—two seated poses and one standing shot—were all taken during quiet breaks between booth rows. The heavy background bokeh effectively filtered out crowded foot traffic, keeping the subject in sharp focus. I wore chunky-soled white boots for easy walking across the convention floor, perfectly matching the dress's color palette.

To be honest, wearing this custom design cosplay out in public for the first time made me quite nervous. Since it's a fan concept rather than Robin's official outfit, it lacks that instant, universal recognition. However, many fellow anime enthusiasts at the venue recognized key character motifs and shared warm encouragement. The true charm of custom design cosplay lies in infusing one's personal artistic vision while preserving core character traits—like reinterpreting avian elements into feather headpieces and shifting warm tones to a cool palette. This retains Robin's ethereal, light aura while adding a distinctively cool, serene elegance unique to this design.

During the shoot, the photographer captured moments from various dynamic angles. The shot where I'm hopping on one leg was actually candidly caught while I was adjusting my balance, turning out far more lively than a staged pose. The two seated shots are quieter and more serene, showcasing makeup details and accessory coordination clearly. The entire session took about thirty minutes—very efficient, thanks to thorough preparation. If time permits in the future, I'd love to shoot an outdoor version in natural sunlight to see how the ice-blue color pops outdoors. For now, I'm documenting this debut with these indoor convention photos—the journey of custom design cosplay is long, and I'll keep exploring!
