Cosplaying Yutenji Nyamu from BanG Dream! at Firefly ACG Expo, blending gothic rock with sweet punk elements. To capture the distinctive aura of Ave Mujica, I poured considerable thought into the styling and makeup. The wig chosen was a soft lavender-purple bob with blunt bangs; I trimmed the face-framing tendrils and wore scarlet contact lenses. The eye makeup blended soft pinkish tones with an upturned winged cat-eye flick to evoke that signature tsundere, tantalizing charm. The base makeup was locked down firmly with setting spray, which was essential for an entire day of walking and posing at the convention in this Yutenji Nyamu cosplay.
For the wardrobe, the core foundation is a black halter-neck lace mini dress featuring sheer mesh and dark ribbon bows across the bodice, finished with asymmetrical tiered lace along the hemline that glimmers with fine sparkles under light. Over this, I draped a glossy black patent faux-leather biker jacket lined with an eye-popping vibrant hot pink. Dropping the jacket off-the-shoulder along my arms created a bold black-and-pink chromatic clash that delivered immense visual punch. Complementing the cat-eared theme, I wore a pearl-adorned red-base beret flanked by fluffy plush animal ears trimmed in delicate black lace. On my hands were sheer black mesh gloves finished with leather buckled wrist straps, injecting a gritty punk accent.
On the lower half, I coordinated garter-style Black stockings with black high-heeled boots detailed with plush cuffs and pink crisscross diamond lacing. The most distinctive highlight of this entire look was that remarkably long, voluminous black plush tail. This tail prop drew endless attention while walking the expo floor; when taking photos, it had to be carefully arranged beforehand to achieve the best fluid, sweeping extension. Fusing rebel coolness with a touch of sultry charm, this look enjoyed an exceptional head-turning rate throughout the convention.
When shooting these photos, I specifically selected a high-rise indoor setting framed by massive floor-to-ceiling windows, utilizing the urban skyscrapers outside as an atmospheric blurred backdrop. Through a shallow depth of field, cool daylight fell across the glossy black leather and bright pink lining, yielding immensely satisfying chiaroscuro effects. I experimented with poses such as lifting one leg, steadying the beret brim, and extending my arms—movements that accentuated the outfit's rich textural layers and bodily contours while highlighting the tension between rock-chic rebellion and sultry grace. On the day of the expo, polishing every costume and makeup nuance was demanding, and walking all day in high heels was exhausting, but soaking in the vibrant convention atmosphere with everyone was deeply fulfilling, and the photoshoot was a blast.
