[Herta cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: The Pointy-Hatted Lady Embodying Both Beauty and a Short Temper

To flawlessly bring Herta to life this time, I poured a ton of effort into the garment details. In particular, to keep that iconic, gigantic purple wide-brimmed witch hat holding its exaggerated, three-dimensional curve on camera, multiple custom internal supports were built into the brim. Wearing it carries substantial real weight, so keeping my balance throughout the shoot was an art in itself. The black corset was crafted from spliced faux-leather panels, and the silver heart and keyhole emblems on the bodice were repeatedly recalibrated in proportion to capture that precise, ascetic mechanical aesthetic.

For makeup, to match Herta's enigmatic and haughty demeanor, I wore crystalline purple contact lenses, swept expansive red-violet gradients across the lids to elongate the eye shape, and paired them with a saturated crimson lip. The eyebrows were drawn sharper than usual to lend the gaze commanding penetration and pressure. Because Herta's personality has an unmistakably sharp, impatient edge, I kept my facial expressions deliberately restrained to convey an effortless, disdainful nonchalance—the eyes had to be frigid yet brim with supreme confidence.

The set was built inside a moody, low-key room with black-and-white checkerboard tiles, furnished with a vintage red-and-gold sofa and dark gothic lancet windows, instantly dialing the atmosphere up to eleven. To harmonize with the dark-fantasy magic theme, cool-toned lighting and post-production glows were layered across the ruffled cuffs, expansive skirts, and luminous magical runes. Scattered LED candles on the floor and chess pieces subtly looming at the frame edges enriched the composition's layered depth.

The lower styling was definitely one of the biggest visual highlights: sheer Black stockings paired with a black strapped thigh garter and platform high-heeled boots adorned with lace-up ruffles not only elongated my leg lines but also amplified the character's imposing aura. During the session, I experimented with multiple poses—crossing my legs on the sofa or utilizing a wide-angle lens with boots stepping forward toward the camera—which highlighted the garment's profile cut and sleek contours. Because the voluminous outer skirt is patterned with complex white glyphs, lighting angles were calibrated with precision so every rune remained crystal clear.

Arrogant, brilliant, and slightly scheming older-sister figures in anime have always fascinated me. Bringing Herta's magnetic charm to life in my own style has been an incredible joy. To nail these shots, I spent consecutive hours in the studio constantly adjusting the hat's tilt and draping the skirt folds. Although balancing the hefty costume and boots was physically exhausting, seeing the final frames made every single drop of sweat completely worth it.
