For this shoot, I chose Kuromi Serika's summer swimsuit look from Blue Archive. The studio set was specially built with an artificial beach and a shallow pool, which, paired with the blue and white striped sunshade, watermelons, and lifebuoys, fully maxed out the refreshing feeling of the summer seaside. The wig is long, straight hair with a blue-black gradient, and the pink helm wheel and animal ears accessories on the top of my head are highly accurate. Even the black flip-flops on my feet were carefully prepared.
During the shoot, the photographer asked for various relaxed poses, such as lying on a beach chair hugging a lifebuoy, or sitting in the shallow water with my hands around my knees. The water reflections on my skin added a touch of translucency to the frame. The prop team also placed a few simulation watermelons and a shark plushie, making the whole atmosphere incredibly lively.
Wearing this off-the-shoulder black crop top and white swim bottoms was actually quite a test for posture management, but to beautifully present this character's energetic vibe, I maintained my confidence and a smile in front of the lens. We also shot some behind-the-scenes footage on-site; watching everyone splashing around in the water really gave the feeling of a summer amusement park. This beach studio photoshoot experience was wonderful. A lot of thought went into everything from the makeup to the wig adjustment, and I hope to convey that tsundere cuteness of Kuromi Serika—cold on the outside but warm on the inside during this Cosplay photography session.
