[Remilia cosplay] The Banquet of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, First Group Photo Record

This banquet at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, from planning the shoot to the final photos, carries full memories of our team building this time. Although it's my first time participating in such a multi-person Touhou cosplay group photo shoot, everyone's unspoken understanding and cooperation far exceeded my expectations.

When I first got this Remilia outfit, I was immediately drawn to those intricate ruffles and the heavy bat wings. To recreate that classic European texture of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, the photographer specially selected a physical location with deep cyan walls, heavy crystal chandeliers, and old walnut furniture. The vintage afternoon tea props on-site were also very sophisticated; whether it was the multi-tiered pastry stands or those delicate teapots, they all added to the atmosphere. During the shoot, I was mainly responsible for showcasing Remilia's lazy yet slightly tsundere vibe, and interacting with my younger sister was one of the most relaxing parts of the day. Especially that group photo drenched in red ambient light—we were chatting on the chairs at the time, and that casual, loose state gave the photo a strong sense of narrative. There is also a close-up of me sitting by the bed holding a red apple, where the light from the desk lamp filtered through the softbox, presenting a very warm and three-dimensional rim light. In our group, there were characters seriously holding books, maids busy serving silver platters, and my younger sister standing by with her crystalline prism magic wand; everyone steadily held onto their character's persona.

To capture this photo set perfectly, the gaffer and photographer were constantly tweaking various color temperatures and angles. That group portrait against a dark background tested everyone's positioning and eye contact. The interspersing of vintage candles and that pot of flowers livened up the originally somewhat dim room. I also learned a lot of experience on set, such as how to use hand movements to complement the folds of the skirt hem, ensuring the main subject still pops out amidst the complex French-style furniture for our Cosplay photography.

Since it was my first time challenging such a gorgeous dress, my movements were inevitably a bit clumsy when arranging the fluffy skirt hem and putting on or taking off the hoop skirt support. Fortunately, everyone took great care of me. The maid costume's posture holding the tea sets, and Mukyuu's focused expression holding her book, all left a very vivid scene under the lens's capture. The guard and Koakuma also contributed great interactions, making the atmosphere of the entire Scarlet Devil Mansion feel much more realistic. Especially that final photo of two people leaning between the windowsill and the bookcase—that quiet, lazy sense of daily life is the perfect portrayal of what I imagine as the living atmosphere of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. After the final photos came out, everyone felt that the confusing and elusive mystery of the scene was beautifully conveyed. Being able to complete this work with such a group of friends who love Touhou Project is truly an incredibly joyful thing. Every time the shutter clicked, it was a faithful record of our dream-making journey this time.
