[Black Suit Rei cosplay] Neon Genesis Evangelion Village 3 sunset and daily life

Today I am doing Black Suit Rei cosplay, a character from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Wearing this plugsuit feels quite special. The black and red color scheme bodysuit adorned with green lines has very well-made details; once worn, that wrapping feeling unique to mecha comes right out. Although it's slightly restrictive to walk around in, for the effect of the twilight location shoot, this minor inconvenience can be completely overcome. The wide-brimmed straw hat on my head was specially prepared, paired with white fringed ties, restoring that rustic yet somewhat cute feeling from the original design. The wig is trimmed a bit choppy, with bangs naturally hanging down, coupled with red contact lenses and reddish eye makeup, when facing the lens, that quietness and purity belonging to Black Suit Rei naturally flow out. For this EVA cosplay, the shooting location was chosen on a country path. On both sides are vast green fields, with rolling hills and a few utility poles in the distance. In the evening, the sky presents pink and orange interwoven sunset glows, and the light is exceptionally soft. This environment fits the setting of Village 3 very well; without deliberately looking for angles, casually walking on the path or making a V-sign towards the lens can capture a very vivid sense of life.
If Black Suit Rei had continued living in Village 3, she should be able to help out happily just like this. Working in the fields wearing a straw hat every day, walking back home leisurely along this path as evening falls. The setting sun casts very long shadows, imagining her returning to her residence, being able to eat a hot meal, and then hugging Tsubame, that ordinary yet warm picture is truly wonderful. In the original story, her fate always carries a heavy hue, but in this field under the setting sun, she is just an ordinary girl enjoying a brief tranquility. While shooting this set of photos, I kept chanting this feeling in my heart, trying to completely immerse myself into a state where there is no need to fight, only the need to live in peace.
Shooting outdoors wearing this outfit actually requires frequent pose adjustments because the bodysuit easily limits the range of movement. The texture of the straw hat looks exceptionally real under the backlighting, and when the frayed edges of the ties are blown by the evening breeze, the captured effect is very natural. Although this picture was taken with a front phone camera and added some beauty filters, the overall atmosphere still retains the real light and shadow of that time. Every time I cosplay Black Suit Rei, I feel an extra pinch of heartache and a bit more affection for this character. I love her so, so much, so when portraying her, I always hope to give her a little more warmth as a foundation. I hope that in other worldlines, she can also have her own happiness, and for it to last a little longer.
The entire shooting process didn't have too many complicated directions; it was just walking and stopping along the path, capturing some casual moments. The evening light in the countryside changes quickly, so I had to hurry up and press the shutter, but it is precisely because of this rush that the photos gained some unadorned vividness. Sharing this calmness and warmth, I hope everyone can see that besides fighting, Black Suit Rei also possesses such an ordinary yet beautiful daily life.
