This white one-piece suit for the shoot was custom-made from high-gloss latex material; it fits the body contours closely once worn, but severely tested stamina and patience when putting it on and taking it off. Because this fabric has high reflectivity, lighting control on set was exceptionally demanding. Paired with white hair and red eye makeup, I had to maintain that cool, aloof state with minimal emotional fluctuation throughout.
The shooting location was chosen in an abandoned industrial factory, surrounded by rusted steel and warm yellow industrial lighting. Photographer @Hao was extremely professional with light and shadow capture, using water puddle reflections on the ground to create an intense ambiance weaving cyberpunk with wasteland aesthetics. Posing dynamically in a Glossy bodysuit within this environment was much more exhausting than imagined—especially with those high-heeled boots, which made my feet ache after prolonged standing. Still, the resulting cool, tall, and sleek visual effect made it all feel worthwhile.
For hair and makeup, thanks to stylist @Quhe_river; the red pupils and eye makeup details were executed cleanly, and the headdress was secured very firmly. For that full-body side-profile shot, I had to raise one arm while keeping my torso completely straight, demanding high core and arm strength—thankfully capturing the most perfect silhouette in the end. Everyone maintained immense professionalism throughout the shoot, adjusting standing positions and angles repeatedly, making for a fantastic experience.
This photoshoot was not only a meticulous recreation of the original styling, but also a personal breakthrough integrating an Industrial style setting. In my view, beyond costume accuracy, cosplay is even more about conveying the character's distinct internal sense of detachment through body language and demeanor. This project turned out very fulfilling, and given the chance in the future, I'd love to challenge more hardcore sci-fi Anime-style photography shoots.
