[Asuka Cosplay] Neon Genesis Evangelion: Convention Photos Record of Red Dress, Black Stockings, and Violin

When shooting this set of convention photos, the convention hall in the background was packed with people and fill lights, making it truly not easy to capture these two photos. Photo two was chosen as the cover because it perfectly showcases the overall lines of the black stockings and red dress; sitting on the silver step stool playing the violin naturally elongates the leg proportions, matching the red high heels for a great shot. The violin prop is solid wood and particularly heavy to hold up; my arm became sore after holding the bow-drawing pose for a while, so I had to clamp the violin body tighter to support it. The eyepatch blocked part of the view over my right eye, easily affecting my sense of balance, especially on the step stool in photo two where crossing my legs required great care. The red dress is made of glossy satin material, which easily blows out under top convention lights. Fortunately, photographer SENMEi! adjusted reflectors and camera positions on-site, subduing the background's cluttered lines to perfectly highlight the main red tone and the texture of the black stockings. Since these are convention photos, the background was actually very messy; capturing such a clean shot relied entirely on the photographer's on-the-spot snapshot skills. To find the right vibe during the shoot, I adjusted my neck angle several times; the glance-back moment in photo one was meant to complement the shadow cast by the black lace choker on the side. The combination of blue colored contact lenses and the rose headpiece was intended to capture the character's tsundere yet slightly sorrowful nature. Wearing this outfit indeed carries a crisp, sleek feel akin to a plugsuit. Speaking of poses, we tried several different setups on site before settling on the combination of the violin and the step stool. Although the legs were wrapped in black stockings, the sheen under strong light was quite good. The overall makeup was kept clean, especially the eyeliner detailing paired with the blue pupils, aiming to present the character's authentic visual effect. Even though the shooting process was somewhat exhausting that day, the synergy on-site with the photographer was wonderful.
