[Owari cosplay] Azur Lane: Full Presentation of Dark Skin Texture and Techwear Attire

When putting on this outfit, the strongest feeling was the complex sense of layering brought by those various black straps and fishnet stocking structures. The design of this costume is very interesting; the upper body is a white cropped base layer paired with black leather straps and metal rings, which has the unique techwear feel of an anime character without looking too monotonous. The black pleated short skirt at the hem stops right below the waistline, which, paired with the high-position criss-cross leg straps, beautifully elongates body proportions visually.

The material of the coat was chosen to be relatively stiff, with the off-white wide shawl and robe propping up a very distinct silhouette at the shoulders. When shooting in the studio, because the coat was quite wide, walking anywhere brought a slight breeze, and that flowing grace perfectly matched the setting we wanted to present this time. The coat hem is also printed with golden hidden patterns; although most of it is gathered behind me, it still adds to the overall gorgeous aura when spread out.

The black horn ornaments on the head are the heavyweight element of this look. They have a strong glossiness, deliberately made to look like a shiny material. The horns are also hung with golden tassels and small red pendants that wobble slightly when walking. When wearing them, care must be taken to adjust the center of gravity, otherwise it's easy for them to tilt. The wig was chosen in silver-white, with a very long braid woven in the front that drapes down to the waistline. This long braid is classic for anime characters, beautifully neutralizing the harshness brought by the mechanical or techwear style while adding some soft, elegant temperament.

Since the post mentioned "dark skin," I also specially experimented with a Dark skin cosplay texture in the makeup and styling this time. Brown-toned body foundation was applied all over, and highlighting treatments were performed on the joints and leg highlight areas to make the skin present a glossy texture under the lamps. Paired with dark lip and eye makeup, the overall aura instantly became much more powerful. The fishnet stockings and the black open-toe lace-up sandals on the feet combined together to showcase the leg lines and layers beautifully, while the black straps and shoes also cleverly echoed the black leather elements across the entire body.

In front of the solid color background of the photo studio, I tried a few different poses. Because the costume has a strong sense of styling, there was no need for particularly complex movements; tilting the body slightly, raising one hand lightly, or turning around for a backward glance like in the photo was enough to display the details of the clothing itself clearly. The beige coat paired with the black-and-white inner layers keeps the color palette very clean. Actually, this costume has many tiny details in its accurate recreation, such as the criss-cross leather belts on the chest, the mesh gloves on the fingers, and the small metal chains at the waist. Although these scattered accessories felt troublesome before putting them on, once worn neatly, they truly make the character's temperament stand out instantly.

During the shooting process, it was necessary to constantly pay attention to the angle of the horn ornaments to avoid wardrobe glitches or letting the focus of vision scatter. Additionally, because this black short skirt and coat are relatively prone to wrinkling, I needed to tidy them up slightly every time a larger movement was made. However, it is precisely these tedious tidying actions that allow one to appreciate the dedication behind a high-quality Cosplay outfit. The overall feeling of this Techwear photography shoot was that this look carries both the majesty and refinement of the navy ship setting, while taking on a touch of unique restraint and dashing charm. Every detail was adjusted with the utmost effort to fit the original design as closely as possible, keeping energy highly focused throughout, and the final photos certainly lived up to the prior preparation work.
