Stepping into the classical studio, with wooden lattice windows reflecting the clear glow and white gauze swaying gently outside the frame, the atmosphere was instantly established. Before starting the official shoot, the most time-consuming part was securing the makeup and wig. The long silver-white hair had to appear light and smooth without frizz, and the curve of the bangs needed repeated adjustments to fit my facial shape—any slight misalignment would turn the noble grace into something rigid. For the eye makeup, wearing golden contacts naturally brought an aloof distance, so the eyebrow and eyeshadow tones had to be softened accordingly to keep the overall look clean.

The costume selected this time had abundant details. The off-the-shoulder design effectively highlighted the neck and shoulder lines, but to prevent slipping, the clear straps at the back had to be firmly fastened. The metallic pendant on the chest boasted great texture, serving as one of the visual focal points, which layered over the black neckline to outline the understated yet gorgeous Japanese style cosplay aesthetic of the Sakura Empire. The wide white water sleeves were flowing yet tricky to manage, easily tangling with the surrounding gauze curtains or wooden railings at the slightest movement. Therefore, seated poses required restraint, with fingers gently clasped over the knees to freeze that elegant posture in time.

In understanding the character, Bai Feng feels like much more than just a powerful Sakura Empire aircraft carrier. She appreciates the fleeting beauty found in incense lore, and this pursuit of a singular moment strongly mirrors our creative photography process. Sometimes the halo refracted by the light source on the gauze drape fell onto the hair for only about a second. To capture that fleeting instant, the photographer and I held our breath, not daring to disturb the indoor airflow, all for that single frame radiating the romantic spirit of the Sakura Empire.

Although the photos do not directly show carrier aircraft or fiery battlegrounds, sitting quietly on the wooden steps brought battle scenes to mind. The barrage sweeping enemy warships with blazing fire formed a wonderful contrast with the tranquility before the camera. Thus, I softened my expression, concealing the lethal sharpness deep within my gaze while revealing only gentle warmth. After all, her core lies in combining an elegant presence with fierce combat power, and the fusion of both is her true charm.

Throughout the shoot, the team worked in perfect harmony. The gaffer constantly adjusted the side-backlight intensity to give the hair edges a translucent layer of depth without blowing out the overall frame. The wardrobe stylist stayed on standby, promptly fixing any unnatural creases in the fabric. When the final images were ready, seeing the classic floral paintings faintly visible behind overlapping white gauze, this cool, refined ambiance made all the upfront effort completely worthwhile.

This photo series set a serene tone without many dynamic movements. The classical studio setting inherently carried a Zen-like calm, which, combined with the veil of white gauze, created great depth in front of the lens.
