This shoot took place in a bar with an industrial retro vibe, chosen primarily because the red brick walls, wire mesh, and dark leather sofas create a striking visual clash with the deep purple costume. The outfit's details are exceptionally rich: the core piece is a deep purple form-fitting bodysuit with extensive cutouts and sharply aggressive geometric lines. Over it sits a plush purple faux-fur stole, creating a tactile contrast between the high-gloss patent sheen and the matte fluffiness. The glossy armor-like accents on the arms and hips boast incredible texture under the lights, which, paired with black fishnet Stockings and red-soled black pointed-toe stilettos, delivers a cool, glamorous low-key aesthetic. The bunny-ear headband—deep indigo-purple outside and bright crimson inside—adds even more dimension to the look.

To emphasize the costume's fabric textures, the set relied mainly on low-key lighting, using rim lights to trace my silhouette so the deep purple retained rich specular highlights against the dark background. We shot with a Hasselblad camera; medium format's shadow detail retention and nuanced color rendering of purple and black were spot-on, preserving intricate layers in deep shadow areas without crushing into muddy blacks. During the session, we explored numerous poses: the postures on the black leather sofa demanded serious core control, especially the reclining leg-raise pose, requiring tight abdominal tension to sustain the elegant cross of the legs while keeping the stiletto angles natural rather than stiff. Seated at the edge of the bar counter holding a stemmed glass, I leveraged the height elevation to fully showcase the elongated lines of the fishnet stockings and legs.

For post-processing, the first few images featured a composited capybara and an orange over my chest; at the time, I thought leading with such a stark, humorous contrast would instantly grab attention without needing lengthy captions, and it surprisingly worked like a charm. The entire set ranges from languid leaning and chin-propped contemplation to full-body reveals. During shooting, I discussed with the photographer wanting to try fresh angles and diverse posing ideas—such as using the sofa's depth for spatial perspective, or using side-rim light to accentuate the stole's plush volume. The makeup favored a cool, bewitching finish: smoky dark blended eye makeup and a deep crimson lip that projected strong presence under the strobes.

While this costume looks visually magnificent, wearing it and moving around was quite restrictive. The waist cutout meant watching every fold when sitting or bending to prevent the edges from shifting out of place. Shifting across the sofa in fishnet Stockings and stilettos also required extra care against snags or slips. Throughout the shoot, the synergy of lighting, set design, styling, and camera angles was crucial—different perspectives can extract entirely different emotions from the exact same ensemble. These shots were carefully curated from our various experiments, and I hope they offer some inspiration for posing and scene setups.
