[Ye Shunguang Cosplay] Aloofness and Allure in Zenless Zone Zero

Portraying Ye Shunguang Cosplay this time went smoothly from makeup styling and costume prep to the actual photoshoot, and the final results completely matched my expectations.

Starting with hair and makeup: to recreate Ye Shunguang's complex silver-white hair with crimson streaks, several wigs were blended together. The custom red horn-like headpiece had a wonderful luster under the lights. The vivid red contact lenses, paired with smudged red eye makeup, instantly brought out a sharp, chilling aura and lethal edge in my gaze. Plenty of highlighter was applied to give my skin a translucent, porcelain glow.

This costume boasts intricate details. The outer white chiffon skirt features exquisite 3D cloud embroidery, while the cut-out lace design on the chest is both breathable and delicate. Cinched at the waist with a blue corset, it beautifully accentuated body proportions. The flowing red ribbons at the back were a visual highlight, dynamic and airy when swaying in motion. Another noteworthy detail is the red Stockings featuring unique geometric patterns—they feel close to athletic tights yet flatter leg lines remarkably on camera, paired with red-soled mesh chunky platform heels to elongate the legs. Walking around the convention hall in these heels all afternoon was exhausting for the ankles, but maintaining an upright, commanding posture was essential for the character's presence.

As for props, the long sword was custom-crafted to figure-grade quality, featuring a translucent ice-blue gradient along the blade with fluid texture under the lighting. We were fortunate during this shoot: despite the cluttered convention hall background, the photographer utilized selective color post-processing—converting the background completely to monochrome while preserving the subject's red, white, and blue palette, making me stand out instantly from the bustling crowd. To capture the billowing ribbons, the photographer had me repeatedly fling the fabric in motion. The fourth full-body standing pose tested center of gravity most while best accentuating leg contours and posture, creating immense dramatic tension as I posed commanding the scene with the sword.

Communication with the photographer was key during Convention photography. Convention lighting is tricky with fast shifts, so we located spots with overhead spotlights to harness backlighting and sculpt rim light along the hair. In retouching, the reflective texture of the dark floor was leveraged for a clean, sharp finish. I am thrilled with this Ye Shunguang look—from the clean makeup to the high costume fidelity in Zenless Zone Zero, it was a thoroughly fulfilling cosplay experience.
