Today on the stage of the port's Midsummer Cool Festival, I present this special magic performance for everyone. To fit the Azur Lane theme, I specially prepared this magician look filled with stage theatrics. The black patent leather top created intensely sharp reflections under the studio spotlights, requiring the gaffer to meticulously adjust lighting angles to manage specular highlights. The structured stiffness of the patent leather combined with the red bow at the collar delivers a striking visual impact. Since the material neither breathes nor absorbs sweat, it felt quite stifling to wear, meaning I had to hydrate quickly between takes; seeing the finished shots, however, made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile. The black magician top hat and the white-tipped magic wand in my hands served as the defining touches. For the third photo where I'm seated on a vintage red velvet sofa, I deliberately crossed my legs so that the black Stockings stood out sharply against the red-and-black checkerboard carpet, while allowing the patent skirt hem to drape naturally for added visual depth.
The lower half of the outfit pairs tight black shorts with sheer black Stockings, accented with thigh garter straps to balance sleek edge with a tasteful touch of allure. The high heels match the glossy finish of the top, maintaining a cohesive sheen from head to toe. In terms of posing—whether standing to raise the magic wand or seated while lightly tipping the brim of the hat—engaging the core and keeping the spine straight was essential to support the silhouette of the outfit. The stage backdrop featured classic red drapes, neon lightboxes, and a retro metal microphone, giving the entire setting an immersive feel.
Projecting the effortless composure of a magician before the camera is no easy feat: your gaze needs to carry the quiet confidence of commanding the entire room without feeling forced, and hand gestures must seamlessly complement how the props are held. Although the third seated pose looks relaxed, keeping the leg lines elongated and the garment smooth required engaging my core in a semi-suspended hold, leaving my lower back aching afterward. As a Magician cosplay piece for Azur Lane activities, I hope this shoot allows Commanders to experience a side of the character distinct from her everyday look. Every click of the shutter was an exploration into a new character persona—from outfit preparations to the final shot, the journey was filled with challenges and joy.
