For this Izumi Sagiri shoot, I deliberately chose her iconic loungewear look. The oversized white T-shirt is super comfortable; to capture that slightly slouchy, effortless slice-of-life feel, I slightly pulled down the collar to reveal the thin camisole strap underneath, adding a lovely layered touch. The pink and mint-green typographic prints on the shirt are instantly recognizable. The accompanying asymmetrical blue-and-pink striped Over-the-knee socks are undeniably the focal highlight of the entire ensemble. When wearing these Over-the-knee socks, paying attention to the cuff height is crucial—whether staggered or set evenly, ensuring smooth edges without unflattering pinching is key. The tall socks flatter the leg shape beautifully; when extending leg lines toward the lens, they trace clean, gorgeous contours while visually slimming the silhouette.

In terms of makeup, Sagiri's signature light hair and blue eyes are the core elements. I wore a pale grey-lavender wig, which needed a gentle pass with a flat iron before the shoot to keep it silky smooth. The bangs were trimmed with subtle volume to frame and accentuate the eyes. For eye makeup, I applied soft pink eyeshadow paired with icy blue circle lenses, gently smudging the lower lash line to make the eyes appear larger and more expressive. Blush was dusted high across the tops of the cheekbones right beneath the eyes to craft that quintessential soft, shy warmth. The lip color was a sheer, delicate baby pink—understated yet refreshing. During the shoot, the indoor space was filled with bright, natural light streaming through the windows with slight backlighting, making gentle face fill-light essential so the blush wouldn't look harsh or patchy on camera.

Most poses involved leaning back against the sofa or sitting with bent knees. The cream-white plush sofa had wonderful texture, making it ideal for this homely, cozy setting. Relaxation was key—nothing overly rigid. I tried reaching a hand playfully toward the lens and hugging the green frog plushie to inject lively charm into the compositions. Tucking my knees up on the sofa or sitting on the floor with legs extended criss-crossed beautifully highlighted the texture of the Over-the-knee socks and sculpted leg lines, while making my entire silhouette appear petite and adorable. Guiding the gaze was equally essential—alternating between direct eye contact and looking wistfully away to convey subtle nuances of mood.

Huge thanks to Wulongcha for helping me capture such satisfying photos! The handling of lighting and atmosphere was spot on, perfectly bringing out the garment textures and the fine knit of the socks. We wrapped up this shoot right before National Day, and looking back at the photos still brings such joy. Finding the right angles and tweaking the light can be tiring, but seeing the finished frames makes every effort worthwhile. I hope to shoot her again soon to explore more varied angles and lighting styles, like high-angle bird's-eye shots or low dramatic perspectives!
