[D.Va cosplay] Youthful Campus Days in Overwatch

This cosplay photoshoot featuring D.Va's Academy skin is an older set taken previously, organized and reposted today. As a cosplayer who frequently portrays Overwatch characters, I made a few subtle adjustments to the texture and presence of this uniform. The top is a deep navy blazer jacket with a structured, crisp cut that looks vibrant and spirited. The cuffs and chest feature pink and cyan spliced accents that harmonize nicely with D.Va's mech color palette. The necktie and pleated skirt both sport pink plaid; paired with twin braided pigtails and round-frame glasses, it dials the 2D campus esports girl persona to the maximum. On the cheeks, I applied special pink face markings mimicking the in-game decals to enhance character recognition. For the legs, I selected a pair of blue Over-the-knee socks with pink stripes along the bands; Over-the-knee socks showcase beautiful silhouette lines in crouching poses while staying true to the character design.

The shoot setting utilized stacked vintage CRT televisions and neon light tubes to forge a retro Cyberpunk ambiance. Props included an orange handheld console and a pink toy gun. The shot holding the console to partially obscure the face accentuates eye contours, whereas the crouching side profile holding the gun is ideal for highlighting the curves of the waist and legs. During the shoot, I deliberately experimented with various poses, such as a frontal crouch flashing a V-sign and a three-quarter profile aiming the blaster. Because the prop blaster was lightweight, conscious muscle engagement was needed during poses to ensure arm lines appeared toned and clean.

The entire shoot was genuinely fun; this clash between retro tech vibes and youthful campus aesthetics felt completely distinct from other 2D themes I typically shoot. For this skin, makeup and posing must ensure glare on the glasses doesn't obscure the gaze, the braided wig brings out D.Va's energetic charisma, and post-processing preserved the high-saturation blue-and-pink color clash from the original shots.
