For this Izumi Sagiri cosplay shoot, set design and lighting manipulation were our central focus. To faithfully capture the character's stay-at-home nature, we specifically chose a room with wooden floors and Venetian blinds, decorated with wooden storage shelves, a green-plaid sofa, and a retro CRT TV. The mountain of plushies piled in the background subtly accentuated the character's youthfulness and shut-in tendencies, while enriching the frame's visual density.
In terms of wardrobe, I went with the iconic white off-shoulder oversized tee paired with pale-pink ruffled loungewear shorts. Given the character's shut-in sister persona, pairing this with over-the-knee White stockings not only suited the signature everyday style of an Anime girl, but also effectively elongated the leg lines visually. For the wig, I selected a translucent light-lavender tone paired with pink hair ribbons; although managing the wig styling required constant vigilance throughout the shoot, it guaranteed high fidelity to the character. For makeup, I intentionally enlarged the pupil proportions and wore vibrant blue contacts to replicate her placid, understated gaze.
There were plenty of fun, engaging moments during the shoot. For example, sitting by the bedside gazing into the lens, or lying prone with feet kicked up while holding a tablet and nibbling on a white lollipop stick—all movements tailored to reflect how she lounges at home. To give the shirt an effortlessly slouchy drape, the shoulder straps had to be readjusted repeatedly to prevent slipping too far. The overhead high-angle shot in photo five was especially fun: standing with hands on hips, framed with White stockings and shorts, the photographer used a wide-angle lens to visually elongate leg proportions, while highlighting that subtly stubborn, pouty side of her personality.
With the afternoon sunlight streaming through the blinds, we used a reflector board to fill in facial shadows, ensuring clean, translucent skin tones in shaded areas. This ambient light fostered a dreamy, warm domestic atmosphere, ideal for an At-home portrait with a relaxed aesthetic. In post-production, we refrained from excessive edits, applying only subtle tweaks to slightly darken background distractions and gently lift skin radiance, preserving the tangible texture of indoor sunlight and authentic fabric weave. I hope this set accurately conveys Sagiri's soft, fluffy, and endearing charm as an iconic Anime girl from Eromanga Sensei.
