[Alice cosplay] Mushoku Tensei Meets Brown Dust 2: Red Hair and Cat Ears Styling

Merging the styles of Mushoku Tensei and Brown Dust 2 this time, I took on this cat-eared Alice look.

The wig features intensely saturated, long crimson hair with subtly curled ends and wispy bangs that neatly flatter facial contours. Makeup leaned into a clean anime porcelain base paired with crimson eyeshadow and matching contact lenses. To keep facial features from flattening under intense studio lighting, I deliberately intensified the eyeliner and defined the aegyo sal, injecting a cool, sultry edge.

Garment texture and layering were paramount during this shoot. The core piece is a high-shine black form-fitting bodysuit; this latex- or PVC-like material is exceptionally sensitive to studio light, where uncontrolled specular glare can quickly look bulky, necessitating continuous body angle adjustments. The neckline is pieced with a white collared shirt trim and a red ribbon bow, centered with a metallic emblem accenting the dominant black tone. The wrists are styled with white folded cuff warmers accented by black round buttons that echo the black-white-red palette.

The lower half features matching high-gloss dark pantyhose paired with black patent-leather pointed stiletto heels; the red soles visually elongate leg lines while introducing a hint of seductive charm. To embody the enigmatic and mischievous nature of the design, I wore black cat ears with white inner fluff, serving as one of the styling's most captivating visual anchors.

The studio setup was purely minimalist: a seamless white backdrop and a white cylindrical prop pedestal. Posing seated on the pedestal with legs crossed, one hand raised to lightly touch my ear while the other supported my weight, allowed the glossy highlights across the dress and stockings to catch the studio strobes evenly while expressing the character's languid confidence through body language.

For lighting, the key light was positioned high and to the side, preserving broad specular highlights along the garments and hosiery while keeping facial tones soft. Color contrast across the frame is stark: fiery crimson locks, fair skin, and cool monochrome fabrics deliver an immediate visual punch. Suiting up in this tight, non-breathable outfit meant frequent makeup touch-ups and posture resets, but seeing the final retouched shots—balancing aloof elegance with sultry allure—made it a thoroughly satisfying endeavor.
