[Diluc cosplay] The Midnight Watcher's Crimson Feast (Red-haired boy cosplay)

Shooting this client set of Diluc cosplay was destined to be a test of physical endurance from the very moment I gripped the claymore. The prop greatsword was far heavier than anticipated; holding it steady required constant arm strength while ensuring my facial expressions remained completely composed. Our main focus was on makeup, styling, and atmosphere. The crimson wig was trimmed and adjusted three times, using special techniques to volumize the roots so it fell naturally across both sides of the face with a rich, layered weight. The crimson contact lenses were custom-ordered, catching the studio lights with a clear, translucent glow. The intricate tassels on the coat and the elaborate embroidery on the inner lining required constant smoothing to maintain a clean silhouette.

During the shoot, the backdrop featuring crimson drapes and a black-and-white checkerboard floor added immense theatrical tension, though it also easily absorbed ambient light. The photographer adjusted a hard key light on the left, which sharply sculpted facial contours and highlighted the crimson-and-gold engravings along the blade. To convey the character’s calm and composed presence, we practiced numerous poses repeatedly, including single-knee crouches and standing poses leaning against the claymore, fine-tuning the grip angles to make the prop look natural. The entire session took four full hours; although exhausting, seeing the lighting and fabric textures in the final edits made every minute worthwhile.

My personal favorite aspect was the makeup. To capture his temperament, the eye makeup was designed with sharp, decisive lines, heavily demanding clean facial contouring. Holding the heavy greatsword gave an authentic, tactile presence that, paired with this Dark style cosplay outfit, made it effortless to immerse into the role. This was an unforgettable shoot, and the overall Gothic style photography atmosphere was executed to perfection.
